system updates need to be less intrusive

can you make system updates less intrusive? this is a recurring problem for me. i get interrupted mid game frequently for system updates and I've had enough. i probably wont buy another system from you until this gets resolved. it wouldn't be so bad if
there was an option other than download update, or continue and go offline. please just notify me about the update and let me decline for now and continue what i was doing. this has been occurring for months now. this is not an issue regarding changing my
settings to allow for automatic updates. that's what i was told when i contacted support the first few times this has happened.

yeah, i'm not a fan of the color scheme, but i like that it is less intrusive.

 

I am part of the insider program and the first thing I do when turning on the my xbox, is to check for an update. It has become a habit and I never get forced updates anymore.

 

Sorry to hear you're upset. A system update doesn't head to your console immediately on release but will give you a 48 hour grace period to do it before forcing the update to your console. What you could do is set your console to Instant On then turn
on the option to keep the console updated will prevent this from happening to you in the future as it will have the console update when you're not using it.

 

It is even less before a force happens to insiders. Also instant on, keep console updated doesn't always work. When seeing these issues, I automatically assume they are insiders, as auto update (as stated by OP) hasn't solved the issue.

Also it can be an issue if it a is pre owned xbox that the previous person did not remove, before selling.

 

I’ve never had this happen but I would agree that having a setting for a system wide time frame for applying updates would be ideal. Set it to when you’re sleeping, set the system to instant on and no more worries.

 

Not so, as we do not know if the OP is an insider, or if the OP has a pre owned console. I am in the insider alpha skip ahead ring and console set to instant on and keep updated. It still does not always do an automatic update. Hence why I sugested
checking once you start the Xbox up. It takes seconds to check for an update and saves the frustrations caused from forced updates, which can be a matter of a few hours in the insider program.
