System Updates and Content Downloads - Multiple Devices on the same network

I have multiple Xbox One consoles on the same local network. It's a little frustrating to see that ALL console have to download HUGE updates across my broadband rather than being able to pull from one of the local machines. This is even worse when I want
to download games that are huge.

I know that (by default) Windows 10 allows windows updates to pull from multiple sources on the same local network, I was wondering if anyone had thought about or suggested doing the same with Xbox One Updates and even more preferable would be that games
can be pulled from local devices (once all authentication has been fulfilled via Xbox Live of course).

First world, meet problem.

Put your system in instant on and update allowed so it updates, shouldn't have as many issues of needing to update while others are using the net. YOu can also turn it on so your xbox has priority over other devices, or if you want to be a dick you can limit other devices speeds so you can get the best speeds.

Either way not limited to xbox or pc, and also you can now transfer files between xbox's on the same network without downloading twice. Simply have one system in the same home download the file, then go to settings and there is a file transfer option now... i don't remember the exact area, and it's late so too lazy to look.

Either way that will, or should go faster than downloading it twice at the same time while other traffic is on your network. You should be able to just select any title(s) you want to move to the other one, and if they both have the setting selected to allow network transfers boom faster speeds. Theoretically.

 

Streaming Media from my PC to my Xbox One

I am having issues with the same thing. On the 360 I could go to "My Video Apps" select the the app "System Video Player". When I would select it all my network devices would come up (computers and network hard drives etc.) I could select one of them
and play media content from any of the devices.

On the Xbox One the "System Video Player" app doesn't exist. Without a Windows 8 computer, how do you play the content via Xbox One?

For the games downloads you could use an external drive and Copy the game to that. You can either plug the external Hardrive into the Xbox you want to play on or copy the game from the external drive to the internal of the others Xbox´s.

You could also only let the Xbox with the Harddrive attached update the games and then copy / plug it into the other boxes.
