    System Update


    I bought my xbox one today. (I know im a bit behind in the times). It wont let me update the console which i need to do to start using it. Ive powered down and checked my connection about 3 times each. It says the connection is fine but its on the xbox side.
    Is this tied into the xbox live problems they are having today?

    This is most likely affected by the issues with Live. Keep an eye on
    http://xbox.com/status     to see when the issues are resolved and give it a little bit and try again. Sorry to hear that you're off to a rocky start with your console, but trust me, it's worth it when it starts working System Update :)

    Yes the problems with xbox live are probably why you can't update.

    Just keep an eye on www.xbox.com/status

    Once the problems are sorted you should hopefully be able to update.

    It's an unfortunate bit of bad timing that you bought your console on a day when xbox live goes down

    Also, just to follow-up, it appears there is some sort of issue with the redirect from the link referenced above - it SHOULD redirect to the status page, but for some reason I'm getting an error, so another way to get to it is through this link:

    Hey there Bornman 01! Sorry to hear of your issue with your update. If you take the time, you can find practically all you in the sticky provided right here:

    forums.xbox.com/.../166045.aspx     It will give you instructions and guide you to how to install a system update to your console via USB. I hope this helps!

    So, what are you trying to tell me? My post was refering to HALLOWEEN PRANK's. Don't you think that would have produced the correct answer? "Skydrive" is not the most complex term in the end. But some poeple obviously prefer asking silly questions instead

    I don't have a different HDD but this is a 60gb one and I've only played L.A. Noire and Fifa 11 on it so it should have plenty of space I would imagine.

    Ah Hughesnet, I guess you have the HT1000 modem. You'll need to disable web acceleration if that's the case.

    Try my suggestion in the thread above please, it does work. Should you at some point in the future need to reset the modem you will need to disable web acceleration again.
