System update problems

When there is a system update there are 3 steps. Download, verify, apply. Every time it gets 66% of the way thru apply it freezes. This has happened 5, yes 5 times in the last few months each time necessitating a factory reset to clear the problem. This
is extremely frustrating to say the least and since I was "Encouraged" to run my entire entertainment system thru the Xbox this also means no TV for hours as the problem is ongoing. Thanks a bunch Microsoft for releasing glitchy unnecessary updates that screw
up my entire system and take hours to resolve. I have had an Xbox since the first one was released and this will be my last one. A free bit of advice Microsoft, your customers want ease of use, not constant tech problems with no clear answer that take tons
of online research to find the answers to and then lots more time to implement. Try not releasing updates for a while till you get them right.

Welcome to the rest of us. After multiple attempts I finally was able to download the update and now I get disconnected from live every 5-20 minutes. I'm about to sell this and give up.

I have a 250 GB Final Fantasy 13 edition Xbox. I removed the external hard drive and replaced it. Was getting the same error. I was able to play Bejeweled 2 from the hard drive just fine and then I installed Batman Arkham City on it and that went fine
also. Looking at the troubleshooting guide I went and cleared the system cache and it still gave me an error when attempting the update but the status code changed. The new Status Code is 351F-0000-0080-0300-8007-0070.

Oh, BTW, I've tried skipping the update and staying offline. This results in a crash and green screen of death several days later and while you are offline your games don't cloud save. I lost five days of Skyrim this way.

Have you tried clearing your cache.

Sign in on your console and on the 'Home' hub of the dashboard and scroll to the far right, then select the 'Settings' hub.

Then select the 'System' tile in the upper left.

From here scroll down x2 and select 'memory.'

Highlight the HDD and press 'Y', then select 'clear system cache.'

(A message will pop up saying 'This will perform maintainance on your xbox 360 storage device, do you want to continue?'

Select 'Yes.'

Now that you've cleared the cache, pop a game in your console and install the update when prompted. You will need to

perform this for every title you play after clearing, but it should only be the once per title now (unless future

updates are released)

"Reset this console" option via keep games and apps usually works and you don't need USB flash drive for this step! Please tell us what happened.
