    System update keeps failing


    Xbox One S

    I have restarted my xbox.

    I have restarted my internet.

    I have turned it off, unplugged for several minutes, turned it back on.

    I have tried the Offline Update

    I have tried to reset my Xbox, both keeping games and keeping nothing.

    I have even tried to turn my internet off and force the offline update to go through/take priority or something.

    Here's the problem: every time I try to do anything with my xbox, it goes to a screen of updating, "Step 2 of 3 Verifying: 100%" and the bottom right is stuck on 52%. After doing every step above, that screen is the first thing that shows up. It fails, "Something
    Went Wrong" and brings me back to the troubleshooting page. Any option I choose, it goes to "the screen," fails, and the cycle starts over again. Why is this happening? Is the update corrupt? How can I force it to retry?

    The error codes I get are E100 and E100 I'm pretty sure but that just depends on what option I try. Please, please help. I'm at a loss of what to do. Has anyone had this happen, and if so, how did you fix it?

    Note, I haven't seen any screen other than those few since it worked. I came home, my xbox sounded like it was on for about an hour before I tried to turn it on, and it immediately came up with the "something went wrong" screen and has been messed up ever
    since.

    I believe I have auto-updates on and I leave it on instant-on. (Unfortunately)

    Failed system update

    tried that my usb desk drive is to wide to fet in the plug in the back of the xbox so i burned it to a desk and it didn't work it just goes straight back to the error screen after a brief attempt to finish the download.

    You are going to need to download the microsoft update package onto a usb disk drive and plug it into the console..

    You will then boot the console using the power button, the console will recognize the signed update package and proceed to flash the update onto your console

    Download this systemupdate:
    download.microsoft.com/.../SystemUpdate_15574_USB.zip     (OFFICIAL MS WEBSITE!!)

    This is the systemupdate you need.

    After that, follow these steps:

    1.) Unrar the download

    2.) Copy the $SystemUpdate folder to the root of a CD or USB Stick (The memory stick must be FAT or Fat32 formatted)

    3.) Insert the CD or USB Stick into your Xbox 360 console.

    4.) You will be automatically prompted to update with a USB stick, with a CD / DVD it should say Mixed Media Disc, power down the 360 and power it on again. You should be ask to update before the 360 boots to the dashboard.

    5.) Once the update is complete your Xbox 360 will restart then boot up to the new dashboard. Enjoy!

    Hey there, that would be caused by a few things, have you been through all the steps on this page? Troubleshoot console update problems.



    In particular, I'm wondering if you've tried removing all accessories (including HDD) How does that go?
