i just got a xbox one but it won't do the that i need to play it it just keeps say problem in the network

System Update Issues

Hey Guys

I just got my Xbox One and at the first update it continues to get stuck at 74% for hours on end. I've tried restarting the xbox but it doesn't seem to be helping at all. I tried to download the offline system update but when downloading it from my computer
directly it says the file is invalid (I was downloading option 1) and on winrar it says the file download ended unexpectedly. I'm kind of stuck here with a problem that can't be fixed because the way to fix it has a problem.

well is there a problem in the network ? What kind of modem and router ? wireless or wired?

 

Do not mean to piggyback this but I am having this issue too. Out of box, the update will complete to about 8 or 9% then errors out with no code. It just says it cannot be completed and gives me the option to turn off the xbox or to retry. If I retry, then
it will start from 0% and do it all over again. My internet connection is fine (routed wirelessly). I also tried power cycling the system and it did not work.

 

I would suggest trying it wired to your router. See if that makes a difference. Good Luck!

Probably not what you wanted to see but this is what I found on manually updating the One.

If you don't have internet access for your Xbox One, you can contact Microsoft support for instructions on applying a manual update file. They may be able to provide you with a link to an update file that you can install on your Xbox One using a USB drive.
These update files are only offered to users who cannot connect their Xbox One to the internet.

 

No, that I could do. And at this point would be less of a headache. I tried going to chat to talk to someone but I cant enter in my name (the boxes are greyed out) so it wont connect me

No. Thank you. Genesis was very helpful and answered my questions. And No. I wasn't having connectivity issues. It wasn't a matter of connectivity at all... so I think that forum would be incorrect as well. but thanks anyway.

 

if you are having issues completing an update you are almost definitely having connectivity issues. if you want to do a manual update the instructions can be found here

support.gtm.xbox.com/.../offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool as for chat or email support. they do not have email support and chat is a poor option for connectivity troubleshooting as most likely multiple times you will need to power cycle your wireless
router which would disconnect you from the chat agent and would need to start all over explaining to a new agent the issue you are having.
