    SYSTEM UPDATE HAS ERROR WHILST UPDATING!


    Hi, A friend of my family, has recently given me their Xbox One (i think because they got a PS4) I don’t know how long they had it but now when i go onto it, i have to perform a system update, this is fine on all other consoles i have, however, when IT REACHES
    10% it stops updating and says “There was a problem with the update” ‘You need this update to use your console, but something went wrong’ etc. The error code given is 0x8b05008e IF ANYONE COULD HELP IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

    XBOX one Is not Updating after power cycle. Is It Because of Xbox Live Service Down right now?

    No while updating i pressed all triggers and i got the error code

    UPDATE ERROR: Network Error. 0x80072ee2 0x00000000 0x00000200

    Hey RAGExFRAGZ,

    Your Console was most likely updating while you unplugged it which results in that Error.

    Take a look into that guide:
    http://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/system-updates-solution     and select "Troubleshoot Update error->Your Console->Startup issue->green screen"

    for some troubleshooting steps.

    Ongoing content download and download queue issues

    Possible clue.

    Checked Settings - System - console update status.

    Page showed last update 13Jan 2020, Last status check 18 Jan 2020 0237hrs.

    No console updates available i.e the system has most recent update

    Update status was reading as failed with an error code in brackets.

    Whilst I have been typing this and flicking between browser and settings screen to double check wording / nomenclature the status has changed to update successful. Aforementioned dates times of last update and status check has not changed.

    I was online when last update was applied. System dumped me out of what I was doing to undertake update and three stage process looked like it completed just fine, downloading, unpacking and applying updates inlusive of auto system restarts as expected.
    I watched the process, it did not hang or error.

    Remote Management and Mobile Management are not enabled.

    Still points to some funniness with last update.

    Get button still not working.......

    May be a problem here

    HI

    If the console has been set to Energy saving mode then the console will not download any updates whilst it is switched off, if you have the console set to instant on mode then you can change a setting to either allow it to download system or game / app updates
    whilst powered off.
