System Update for Xbox 360 in New Zealand with Spark as ISP

Based on my own experience and those of posters to other threads, the latest system update for Xbox 360 seems to fail for New Zealand users with Spark as their ISP. Furthermore, even attempts to

update by USB transfer fail (at least for me) when using the Spark network, because download of the
system update zip file stalls (for me, always at about 97.6/110MB).

My solution was to use a computer on a different network (at my workplace, rather than at home) to download the system update file onto a USB stick. The download worked fine - no stalling as on the Spark network. I was then able to successfully install the
system update on my son's Xbox 360 by following the instructions here.

I hope this problem is fixed for subsequent system updates. The problem is that Spark and Microsoft may disagree as to where the problem lies. Apart from this update file, my Spark network is running perfectly.

Newest update (11 December) not downloading -Status Code: 42FE-0000-3080-0506-8007-2EE2

I am another Spark customer in New Zealand having problems with the latest update for the Xbox 360. Trying to download the file SystemUpdate_17150_USB.zip onto my home computer (for offline installation of the update) stalls every time at around 97.6/110MB,
yet the zip file downloads fine to my work. Given that all my other internet services at home seem fine, there is obviously some quirk with this particular system update. We really need Microsoft and Spark to work with out between them.

 

NAT setting strict on sparks Huawei HG630b Home Gateway

Huawei HG630b Home gateway

We have My Xbox one console and a Xbox 360 both connect wireless and one Xbox 360 wired

I have tried connecting my Xbox one via Ethernet cable, tried port forward but they don't have settings for this Huawei, I have contacted my isp, and Xbox support and Huawei, but have gotten no where. I cant afford the static IP as my ISP will charge another
$13 on top of the $120per month, they also offered their premium service for another $15 per month on top of my $120 per month.

Don't know if the UPnP is enabled or not

when I go to play multiplayer games I get the warning that my Nat is set to strict and I may not find people to join Nat is constantly strict, now

My ISP is Spark New Zealand formally Telecom New Zealand, I have had this problem ever since upgrading from the old copper service to the ultra fast fibre network, and this Huawei was the modem they supplied, as my old one is not capable of functioning with
the new service.

 

It only seems to be affecting a certain range of Spark customers. What you could have tried (marked as resolved) was to direct your console to an open/public DNS server (e.g. Google public DNS), to see if there was anything wrong with your ISP's DNS zone.
