System update finally rolling out....

As a side note for you guys, the update will only download outside of your peak hours, meaning it won't download at 4pm your time.

The system feels smoother & snappier after the update

I really like the changes to the achievements and the game/app seperation.

 

Since update when I use voice comand "watch tv" it always asks me to re do all my tv set up like its the first time i've done it. bit annoying. how can i stop this?

Has anyone noticed graphics looking slightly better since the update?

I've been playing Dead Rising 3 since d/loading and it looks noticeably better/cleaner than it did yesterday?

 

I've checked three games since the update:

- Powerstar Golf looks 480p now, ridiculously soft/blurry compared to before, has ruined the game for me

- Ryse looks softer, not the same jaw dropping visuals anymore

- Max looks mostly unchanged

Not a good first impression for me, in fact very disappointing. I checked to make sure settings were still 1080p/24bit and that my calibration settings were still good.

 

Ok.... where is the battery indicator for the controller?? I can't find it! -_-

 

My voice commands are working very well. No notice of changed visuals

My games look better.

I toggled off from auto to HDMI under "TV connection" on my Plasma and from auto to DVI on my monitor and it looks good.

This could just be affect placebo, but I'm happy with the results, so....

I did have to adjust contrast a little but it looks great.

 

My guess is that they toned done the sharpening filter, so any game that relied on it will look soft now. I guess we'll see what the March update brings, hopefully it reverses the damage the Feb update has done. I understand that people complained about
the harshness of the sharpening filter and MS may have felt compelled to address this, but my gosh why they landed at this solution baffles me.

 

According to a post on Reddit they've removed the sharpening filter for sub 1080p games

I've only tried DR3 so far, but to me it looks noticeably cleaner

 

The MS post of everything in the update does not mention any tinkering with the graphics filter. You sure you're not experiencing placebo effect? I don't think I notice any differences.
