  1. System Update - all methods fail

Hello. I have been trying for the last few days to update my XboX , specifically to play older games, but none of the instructions do a anything. I am not going to go into the USB or CD / DVD attempts but right now, i use a wired connection to the console
and from the network settings i i run all tests and all is fine but i get no prompts or any discernible confirmation of any updates. I am simply "Connected" to the internet. Great! Now i can see lots of adverts but still can not play games listed in their
release as of 2007. It is 2015, why did they not programme a simple "Update System" operation that the user could manually click?

To be honest, i am tired of this. Game consoles are a waste of time and money today. What is wrong with load and play? Why so complicated ? It is a simple update!!

If i get no resolve in the next few days i will not bother with support and just take it back .

    :)

  2. Cant connect to xbox live System Update - all methods fail :( Help!

Hey Worn, sorry to hear about the update issues! Okay, when that update fails, are you seeing an error code at all?

    This page
is helpful for any error codes you might encounter, and it includes some alternative methods for updating. Would you mind giving that a look, to see if anything listed helps? System Update - all methods fail :)

"We cant show your friends right now"

the big thing this Gen that MS did was update individual apps, functions , features without bringing all of live/system down. They incorporated the same method with windows phone.

Your Xbox 360 will play all Xbox 360 titles. If you're talking about Xbox original titles, if compatible, the game will download the appropriate emulation patch once you're signed in and launch the game. If you're signed into Xbox Live, then you have the
latest dashboard update available. There is no update button available, because to connect to Xbox Live, your console auto-updates, with your permission. It is load and play. You pop your disc in, and you play the game. I'm not understanding your issue.

    Hi there UgliestTuna5160

What exactly happens when you try to play these games? If you're connected to the internet and you're seeing advertisements and are able to sign-in with your account it sounds like your console is fully up to date. If it wasn't you would be notified of a
new update and would be unable to connect to Xbox Live until it was updated.

  6. @Irixion: Thank you for the reply, but i do state my reasons in my first passage. Clearly i am no referring to 360 games as they will quite obviously work, although, as an operating system, it needs to update. It is an old system that has been reset before
today and has not been updated. It was not able to do so. However, i am only interested in original games here, but either way, the XboX does not update and there is no manual ability to initiate this as a user.

@Mista Maka : If it was fully updated, it would not give me a message that Splinter Cell needs the update to run and it then reboots the XboX back to main screen. As stated, i have run all methods as given by Microsoft and also looked elsewhere and it still
refuses to update and play games listed in their list as of 2007 .

I have not used it tonight and likely will not. I may take it back tomorrow or Monday.
