    System shutdown!!!!


    Greetings.

    I seem to have an issue where my console runs perfectly for everything except.........gaming.

    I does all the updates plays movies and all other basic functions, but if a game is played anywhere between 5-15 minutes the console just turns off everything. Console, power supply brick everything goes off. Ive tried resetting the power brick to no prevail.
    Ive also done a system reset that didnt work either, also ive changed the auto shutdown settings to off completely. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Restart your console from a Full shutdown.

    System>Settings>Power mode & startup>Full shutdown.

    Put simply, a Force Shutdown. It's a common hardware option especially on PC's when the OS or system stops responding, you are left with a Force Shutdown, a fail safe option when the OS/system doesn't respond which involves pressing a button for a few seconds.
    But others will tell you "you know that (force shutdown) is not good for your machine, right?".

    Hi Shawn

    As a first if this is occurring I would try a full power cycle by shutting down the console and then unplug the console from the power wait for 5minutes and then turn it back on.

    When you turn it off the normal way it goes into a sort of standby mode and a full power cycle resets all the cache.

    Hey there Shawn,

    Thank you for reaching out to us on the forums. The console should definitely not be acting this way especially not 11 days into owning the console. I would advise that you take a look at

    Troubleshooting Xbox One unexpectedly turning off     to troubleshoot the issue.

    Of course being it is a newer console you might also consider returning to the retailer to replace the console as you do not want this to escalate to a much bigger problem down the line.
