System setting- Family- Parental controls. I need to reset the passcode

I just bought an Xbox 360 recently from a pawn shop and there is a parental control passcode that is needed for many of the apps and many things are blocked. How can I reset it to where I have the option to put in my own code or the ability to turn it off?

SO FRUSTRATED !!!!!!!!!

Deleting the profile and downloading it again won't reset the family settings passcode. That will only get rid of an account passcode, not one that's globally set for the console.

You'll need to visit this page here. That page has information on the family settings passcode and how to change
the passcode or simply turn it off by changing the passcode to nothing. You will need to know the reset code that was previously set or the reset question answer. If you know neither, then you will need to contact Microsoft Chat Support or Request a call via
this site here. Click Billing & Memberships, under Microsoft Account click Forgot Parental Control Code.

I can't remember the answer to my pascode question

so I can't remember the answer to my passcode question to reset my passcode on the parental controls under the family settings...all I wanted was to reset my passcode so I could turn the timer on so my Xbox and tv would shut off at the same time...does anyone
know how to reset the passcode question?

On your console, go to Settings, and then select Family.

2.When you’re prompted, enter any pass code (even though it’s incorrect).

3.When you’re notified that your pass code is incorrect, select Reset Pass Code.

4.When your pass code question appears, use your controller or chatpad to enter the answer, and then select Done.

If you’re unable to remember the answer to your pass code question, you’ll need to contact Xbox Support for help.

Try to reset your parental controls through system > family, put in a passcode (anything random) itll give you the option to retry or reset. go to reset and ask your parents for the answer to the question you get asked (i set up parental controls to test
this far)

If this doesnt go to system > initial setup and follow this quick guide

If this is about the family settings passcode, you can
reset that Xbox 360 family passcode yourself, if you have an adult account with these instructions.

@LunacyBlade - The family settings passcode or parental control code cannot be removed by re-downloading your profile. That is if you've set a personal passcode on your own account. The family settings passcode is for the whole console, not for an account
(just an FYI).

The solution that EggBoxJuan gave you is correct, you'd need to contact phone support using the link he provided above. Click Billing & Memberships, under Microsoft Account click Forgot Parental Control Code and then click Chat with Microsoft Support. You will
need to give them the console's serial number so they can generate the unique reset code for your console.
