System restore to fix chat issue or no?

As many people are going through the same thing i thought i would consult the forums. I am having the issue of my wired headset not picking up my voice when i speak, tried every thing, nat settings, mac address, checked my internet and router, played with
settings, soft reset, everything. Basically everything except full system restore. I am uneasy about this cause it seems like a major pain to go through and redownload everything and redo all my settings. This issue seems to be wide spread and not just an
isolated incident. So i would hate to system restore and the problem still exists or it be fixed on MS's end via a patch for their update (which i am pretty sure is the cause since this only started happening as of recent and that is the only difference in
the system .)

So my question to everyone is, if you have done this to resolve this issue and if it was worth it. Not being able to chat is a major thing for me since i constantly play with friends. As well as any info on how to maybe fix this or if MS is working on this
and if it would be resolved soon.

Xbox One doesn´t work

This was most likely cased by the latest preview program build not installing right .

Doing a USB Restore Factory Defaults will fix this issue.

ps you will lose and have to re download or reinstall any games or apps on your internal HDD

What kind of chat headset do you use for chatting on xbox,if you mean the headset from Microsoft as wired headset,then check if family settings has been enabled where chatting may have been disabled.If you use stereo headset adapter then there may be problem
with the 2.5 mm to 3.5 mm adapter used for it.

 

I Wouldn't recommend Resetting the console clearing it's memory until a Support agent approves the issue and encourages you on doing it. 'Xeronax' Proves a good point it may be your headset or a network issue that may need resolving. either way i can't picture
you chatting with a friend and all of a sudden your consoles settings prevent mic use its not logical for the console too do such a thing.

 

You said you tried everything including NAT settings. Is your NAT showing open all the time. If not it could cause issues like you are referring to. I agree at this point doing a system restore seems a little drastic.
