    Hey everyone!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing with connecting to the internet. If you currently have Time Warner as your ISP I recommend reaching out to them and letting them know what's going on. If you currently use a different ISP and are still
experiencing this issue please let me know System restarts when trying to connect to live :)

I found a way but its horrible. You have to turn off security and make your connection open.

So it may have to do with security.

  5. Having the same issue and started about a week and a half ago. I sent my console off for repair because the first time I contacted Microsoft support they thought the wifi card had gone bad. When I got my console back the issue was still there so support
suggested I contact Time Warner and have them update the firmware on my router and that should fix the issue. I had Time Warner reset and re-update my router multiple times and the problem still exists. Just like others have said though it works fine when
wired. Unfortunately due to the placement of my router in my house I can't do a wired connection System restarts when trying to connect to live :(

    Hello!

Is your Gateway the Technicolor TC8717T ? Or perhaps the TC8715D? TWC (Time Warner Cable), recently released a new firmware that changed the wireless encryption...Now when the Xbox Is connecting and shaking hands with it it gets a really messed up instruction
and the wireless card crashes and the Xbox Follows suit. No worries it does all this to protect the console from harm and there is a fix. To be more precise there is 3 known fixes for this gate way and always the option to swap it out. Your console is not
broken. You can go wired, Change the encryption or have TWC roll back the last firmware update.

If you follow these instructions I believe your issue will be resolved. (Sorry most of this from memory and based off the TC8305C)

    How to Change Wireless Security

    1.Open a web browser.

2.Log into the router by entering the default gateway into the address bar of the internet browser. (Example
    http://192.168.0.1/ )

3.The gateway will then prompt for a user name and password. The default is the user name “admin” and the password is “password”.

4.From the menu on the left select Gateway.

5.From the submenu on the left select Connection.

6.From the next submenu select WiFi.

7.Under Private WiFi Network select Edit on the Network you wan to use.

8.Select the "Show More Security Options" (allow the pop up)

9.Select WPA TKIP (about the 6th option from the bottom)

    10. Press Apply. (confirm the prompt about WPS no one used that and it is kind of insecure)

    11. Select Save.

Give this a go and tell me how it goes.

  8. System restarts when trying to connect to live

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work System restarts when trying to connect to live :( It at least got to the checking connection screen before it shut off. I have the TC8715D and when I went to the security options, it doesn't show any more options when I pick the "Show More Security Options"
drop down, so I had to pick WPAWPA2-PSK (TKIP/AES) since it at least had the TKIP option.

I guess I'll have to have TWC roll back the firmware update

Did you try the solution 2 threads up? Seems to fix most people. If not then I would recommend calling your ISP, updating your router firmware, and changing your wireless a bit. Alternatively you can try plugging in a network cable.

I have seen AES and TKIP separately work. I have heard a lot of people have issues where some options are grayed out. Usually this is when they have a custom password (not the default) often WPA PSK AES works. So far I have had luck with this on the 2.4ghz
network (the first of the 2 networks) I haven't tried on the 5GHz network often as most people are not in the same room as the gateway.

If WPA PSK TKIP is grayed out try WPA PSK AES instead. Additionally, when you apply these changes make sure you also hit ok on the WPS pop up and you select Save on the WiFi Edit page. Then go to another page on the gateway and back to the wifi settings
to check that they have saved (Often I find that they have not).

I recommend doing this on a PC or on an Xbox that is wired to the network or able to connect.

7.Under Private WiFi Network select Edit on 2.4GHz Network (Top network in the list).

8.Select the "Show More Security Options" (allow the pop up)

9.Select WPA PSK TKIP or WPA PSK AES (Open is not recommended but is also known to work)

    10. Press Apply.

    11. Press Okay on the WPS will be disabled prompt

    12. Select Save.

Verify settings have saved by viewing any other page on the gateway and returning to the WiFi Edit page.

    Connect on the Xbox One.

Have you considered Homeplugs rather than having to move your Xbox, they offer a wired connection using your home electrical circuit rather than having a 500 foot long cable trailing around the house.

Back to your wireless issue have you tried manually assigning an IP address to the Xbox in your room, it may be as simple as that.

Is the other Xbox connected wired or wireless ? Maybe try changing the connection method on that other Xbox to see if that helps any with the Xbox in your room.

Eggsboxjuan i currently have two xbox ones on the same network and the issue only effects the console in my bedroom. Gonna end up moving it to the living room for a wired connection if and when they release a patch or whatever the fix is
