System restarts when trying to connect to live

Happening to my son's xbox since today.

I removed the profile and tried connecting to wireless network with no profile on the xbox. Once I enter the password, the xbox restarts. Pretty frustrating.

 

My os version is. 10.0.10586.1202 (th2_xbox_rel_1603.160420-1900) fre

 

That's a funky issue for sure, try this.

Go to settings/ all settings/ network/ advanced settings/ alternate MAC address, select the clear option and then the restart option. Then try setting up your wireless network again.

I am having the same problem. It has been getting very frustrating since I have tried many different options (including factoring restoring the xbox one) since the 12th. EggsBoxJuan, I did try your solution as well and still am not able to connect to my
wifi without the xbox restarting itself.

 

The only thing that I have seen regarding this issue is a work around. If at all possible test/run your console wired instead of using wireless to see if it works for you. Hopefully, there will be a resolution soon.

 

Are you using a dual band router that supports 2.4 & 5 Ghz modes. If so is the Xbox restarting no matter which frequency you attempt to use?

 

EggsBoxJuan, I have 2.4 and 5 Ghz modes and the xbox restarts on both of them

 

As stated above currently the only known work around for this issue is to attach the console to the network with a wire instead of wireless.

 

Of course a wired connection is a workaround but it nevers hurts to try other things. Is there a commonality in the network hardware or ISP maybe. People shouldn't have to work around things, things should work.

 

EggsBoxJuan. Yes, you are correct things should just work, however, unfortunately they don't always and sometimes a work around is needed until an actual fix is presented. The standard troubleshooting techniques have already been tried for this issue and
so far the work around is the only viable solution to get the user's console operational.

 

Eggsboxjuan i currently have two xbox ones on the same network and the issue only effects the console in my bedroom. Gonna end up moving it to the living room for a wired connection if and when they release a patch or whatever the fix is

 

Have you considered Homeplugs rather than having to move your Xbox, they offer a wired connection using your home electrical circuit rather than having a 500 foot long cable trailing around the house.

Back to your wireless issue have you tried manually assigning an IP address to the Xbox in your room, it may be as simple as that.

Is the other Xbox connected wired or wireless ? Maybe try changing the connection method on that other Xbox to see if that helps any with the Xbox in your room.

 

Just a thought but have you also checked your router has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates often fix issues within the router itself, It could be some power saving feature of the router or a setting, who knows for sure.
