System restarts when trying to connect to live

When i sign in i have to manually connect to xbox live. Every time i put the correct password in the console does a hard reset. I know the password is right cause the system tells me everyother time when its wrong

@Patrat46, I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!! My Xbox One has been doing this for almost 2 weeks now and its been driving me freaking insane!! I thought all hope was lost after live chatting 4 separate support people, and decided to just use my ethernet
cord but i couldn't move my xbox anywhere around the house like i like to...i found this thread and your reply was something i hadn't yet tried and it worked! As soon as you said Time Warner Cable i knew i was in the right place as they are my provider...so
once again thank you for ending my nightmare! i can now game in my roommates room with him on binge nights!

 

To solve the issue you are experiencing I suggest you to remove the account from your console, clear the console cache and download your account again. Follow the step by step instructions:

a)To remove the account from xbox live console:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Under "Account," select Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove.

Select Remove to confirm.

When you're finished, select Close.

b) To clear cache on an Xbox One:

Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.

Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.

Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.

Plug the power cable back into the console.

Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.

Turn on the console using the power button.

c)To download your Xbox profile to the Xbox One console:

1. Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

2. Scroll down, and then select Add & manage.

3. Select Add new.

4. Enter the email address for the Microsoft account that's associated with your Xbox profile, and then select Enter.

5. Enter the password for your Microsoft account, and then select Enter.

6. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and then select I Accept.

7. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences and download your Xbox profile to your Xbox One console.

Ok i tried clearing the cache and it didnt help. Also i worded my previous post wrong (it was late and i wasnt thinking right, my apologizes) i can sign into my gamertag just fine. The problem is when i try to put in my wifi password. As soon as i type it
in it goes to a black screen and resets

 

I am having the exact same problem. I tried resetting to factory settings and now I can't complete the set up because it is still rebooting as soon as I try to connect to my network.

 

I have been experiencing the same problem. My console restarts when trying to connect to a wireless network. The problem started happening on May 10 for me.

 

Have you tried using it wired to see if it still does the same thing?

 

same exact problem. started happening May 10. xbox one restarts during wi fi login. it works fine when wired to the router, only on wifi.

 

It seems the work around for this currently is running a wired internet on the xbox one. I have seen a few instances of this but have not found another resolution at this point.

 

Was there an update on May 10? Seems like we all had the problem on the same date

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you haven't tried removing and adding your profile back as mentioned above definitely give that a go. Just to check, are you all participating in the Xbox One Update Preview? If so be sure to head on over to the
Xbox One Update Preview forums and let them know the trouble you're having.

 

I am participating in the preview program but only on a different console. Not trying to sound like a jerk but would deleting our live accounts really help when the problem is when we enter in our wifi passwords? (Not sure if that part was completely understood)
I currently have two xbox ones in my house and only one is having this issue. (And of course its the one not in the same room as my router lol)
