System Link - Xbox One and Xbox 360

Hello there,

I would like to know how to fix this issue that I'm facing trying to connect my Xbox One with my Xbox 360 to play a system link game.

The Game - COD black ops 2

The issue is that when I put my disc copy on my Xbox One, it updates to a different version of the game that I have on my xbox 360, although both of the games are on their last updates. And both are physical copies.

BO2 xbox 360 - 44.0.-1

BO2 xbox one - 44.1833.14

So when I try to connect with each other, I receive an error message.

Thank you for coming to the Xbox forums. You actually can system link an Xbox one to an Xbox 360 for backwards compatible games. The steps would be the same as it would to system link two 360 consoles together. Although there is no article specifically for
connecting an Xbox one to a 360, you can still follow the steps on this link here to help you out :

Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. We understand have issues when linking a Xbox 360 to an Xbox 0ne. When you set this up, have you had the Xbox 360 and Xbox one connected via an ethernet cable? Also on the Xbox one, is the game updated exactly
the same as the Xbox 360? The best thing I found would be to have all consoles connected via ethernet to your router for the system link. Here is a link for

Hey RemovedThyme737! You need to be on the same network to utilize system link. To allow the two to play together, you would need to use Xbox Live and connect through the internet. Thanks!
