System Language and Region

Hello,

A few days ago i bought a Xbox One with Kinect, what annoys me is that when i choose my country i cannot select English as system language resulting in that all the games are in dutch. This results in me not using the Xbox since its really annoying.

So my question is when will this be fixed ???

Sadly, there's no way to set the system language to English if you don't live in an English speaking country. I have the same problem, I absolutely hate the Brazilian Portuguese dubbed games and keep my settings as English/Canada (because Canada is more awesome, sorry US), but can't use credit card or Xbox Movies without resetting the system.
For now, the best we can do is vote in one of the several Xbox Feedback demands to dissociate languages from region on Xbox or let you download games on a language different from the system language.

Did I buy the wrong game

Only China is region locked, as far as I'm aware.

Should be able to load it up and change the language to English, just won't be able to read the box unless you know Spanish.Click to expand... from personal experiences even with a x1 being region unlocked what ever language that disc is set in is the language you get it regardless of console preference, happens a lot in Canada with French only discs

I'm also dutch and you can simply change your region to United Kingdom and then select english, all games will then be played in english. I know its annoying but this works fine until they make english selectable when you're dutch.

Same here, I live in Stockholm and chose obviously my Region/Location: Sweden.

Cannot choose "Spoken language" English.

I don't want to choose UK or other countries because it most likely affects my latency and ms.

come on ms i cant believe your doing this to us.

just finish the dutch spoken language and make a setting where you can choose the preferred language off games like you can do with bluray/dvd. it shouldnt be that hard.

i know country's like germany prohibit ppl from watching english mainly because most/allot of german ppl dont speak english. but here in the netherlands now a days even english is given on elementary schools. most dutch ppl know English better then there
own native language.

dont forget us. where maybe a small country but whe got almost a 17million population.

whe got residents from all over the world. some of them dont even know the dutch language.

whe are living in a country where weed is legalised and where whe are free of our own opinions.

please give us the choice to do what whe want.

I feel the same way as most people here about the language selection! I mean, i have been a continuous Gold Member for 6+ years now, and have been playing on my xbox (1) console many years before that!

Back to the cause. The main problem i am having is that i can select English/United Kingdom, but when i want to buy something in the store, i simply can't because that's only possible in the Dutch store...which is only available when the Dutch language/Locale
is selected...I regularly buy things like games/DLC or like the gold deals/deals of the week which are also unavailable or slightly different than what i can buy in the Dutch store if selected differently...

And the worst thing about this is...that in the past 6+ years of being a gold member...i have been able to run my Xbox 360 console, in English, with the Dutch store active...

Please Microsoft 'add' us to the 'list' that can select English language in our Dutch Locale!!

We've waited almost a year longer than many other countries near us, and if it's possible to call in a favor because of this, please accept this one and you will have my thanks for the upcoming years i will game on my Xbox One!
