Not able to go on Live because of failed update

In reference to the support links posted above, here is the solution to your specific error code.

    support.xbox.com/.../software-update-errors

The console is looking for a previous version of the system update. Follow these steps:

Find a USB flash drive with at least 90 MB of free space.

Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system (Windows).

Download the system update for your error code

    http://tinyurl.com/29njb3k

Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.

Unzip the file. If you're using Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7, double-click the .zip file to unzip it.

Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.

Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

If there is a disc in the console, remove it.

    Turn off the console.

Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives, or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive.

Plug the USB flash drive with the update into a USB port on console.

Turn on the console. When the console starts, the software update should automatically start.

4.Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.

    5.Restart the console.

My xbox 360 console is stuck on the update screen i can't access my dashboard

Hi Zweli, my name is Rodrigo. I'm an Independent Advisor and a member of the Microsoft community and I'd love to assist you today.

I am sorry to hear that.

You will need to try a system reinstallation.

Do you have another USB drive you can use to copy the update file?

Make sure to remove your console from the power outlet for 1 minute or so to clear it's cache, before plugging the USB for the system reinstall.

    Then, please, follow these steps:

Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

    Download the update file:

    https://www.xbox.com/system-update-usb

Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.

    Unzip the file.

Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive (for example, E:\). Do not copy the contents to another folder on the USB flash drive (for example, E:\Files).

Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.

Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.

Plug it in the power outlet and tun it on.

When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. When prompted, select Yes to update the new console software.

    I hope this helps.
