One day I went to turn on my console and it sat at a black screen. I hard reset it after 5 minutes. It did the same thing so I looked it up to find that sometimes an update will not tell you it's updating and sit at a black screen for 10 or more minutes.
I let it sit and it seemed to be updating. When I returned I was at a screen displaying " System error. Contact support." in several languages, followed by error code e200 000000ef 00000000. I went to xbox.support.Com and followed all the troubleshooting steps,
ending with factory reset via usb. None of these options helped. The console will not boot from the usb because of the delay in the boot up. I have contacted support about this issue 6 times now. The first I was walked through the same troubleshooting steps
and told that since they didn't work I would have to send my console for service at my own expense of $120. The second time I was disconnected in the middle of being walked through the same troubleshooting steps I told the representative I had already tried.
The following four times I was told all representatives were busy and to try again later.

I am beyond frustrated at this point. My console stopped working because of an update I had no control over, and the only option I was offered was to pay the company more money to fix it. When I went to speak with them about it again, I was completely stonewalled.
I've been on xbox for almost 7 years now and this experience is making me seriously reconsider continuing to be.

    :)

Did you make sure to use the correct OSUDT or trying the Restore Factory Default as a last resort ?

Also the console doesn't automatically boot into the USB you need to ensure you do the following when booting your console with the USB connected that has the OSUDT file

If you made sure you followed all the steps here support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool correctly then unfortunately the only thing left is to pay for the repair since your console is out of warranty.

You can schedule a repair through devicesupport.microsoft.com

  5. I appreciate your response and attempt to help. I have repeatedly followed all of the offline diagnostic steps with no success. My post at this point was more about venting about being offered no real option other than paying for a repair that became necessary
    due to a failed update.

Also the console doesn't automatically boot into the USB you need to ensure you do the following when booting your console with the USB connected that has the OSUDT file

Step 3: On your Xbox One console

    1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
    2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
    3. Wait 30 seconds.
    4. Plug the power cord back in.
    5. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox One console.
    6. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the
EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the
      Xbox
      button on the console.
    7. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
    8. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart.

Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any “power-down” chirps, that also means this failed.
    9. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
    10. When the console restarts, remove the USB drive.
    11. Once the console restarts, the update is complete and you should be returned to your experience.
Note The console restart may take several minutes. If you were using a wired connection, plug your network cable back into the console. If you have never connected your console to the Internet, you will need to connect at least once during your system
    setup process.

    About the buttons and beeps

Pressing the BIND and EJECT buttons at the same time forces the console to look for the USB drive update, as the console will not look for a USB drive unless it needs it. This helps to decrease console start times for all startups when this
    step is not needed.

The first power-up tone will occur approximately 10 seconds after powering up. This indicates that a USB update has been detected. The second power-up tone indicates that the update file has been copied and mounted.
This is important, as it confirms you have a compatible Xbox One system update based on your current build. This informs the system which build is currently installed on the console, and whether the update is compatible with that build.
If you made sure you followed all the steps here support.xbox.com/xbox-one/console/offline-system-update-diagnostic-tool correctly then unfortunately the only thing left is to pay for the repair since your console is out of warranty.
