    System Cache 360

My friend told me that if I reset my 360 System Cache that my Xbox will go back to working how it originally was.

Currently, I've been getting removed from Destiny be it in Orbit or in the middle of a PvP match and I'll even lose connection to Xbox Live all together as well. This has also happened to me while I've been playing BO2 as well.

My question now is: How will this affect my 360 and will this truly help this problem from constantly happening?

    :)

Oh you don't need to restart the console each time you cleared the cache. You could have just done it 3 times in a row (Press Y > Clear Cache > Press Y > Clear Cache, etc.). But glad you're all set.

    Hey all,

As previously stated, a power cycle is a great first step in any troubleshooting you might try as it does fix many issues. That said, since this is an older topic. I'm going to close this one out, if you do have any support questions. Please feel free to
post a new thread so the community can help out. System Cache 360 :)

    Thanks!

Clearing your cache can usually help with a lot of issues. It might not fix the issues you're having since that sounds like more of a connection problem, but you can still try it. Clearing your cache basically clears game updates. It won't affect any of
your games or saves other than having to update your games the next time you play them.

This is the first time it has ever happened to me and my connection has never been a problem, but if it is a connection problem hopefully I can fix it soon.

Anyway, thank you for replying and I'll try it out to see if anything good or bad happens.

    System Cache

Found this out over the weekend. Unlike the Xbox 360 the only way to clear the system cache is to first press and hold the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds with the system on. I believe this should shut the console off, if not press it again to turn off console.
Once the console is completely off(you can't hear any sound from the console), unplug from the power supply and leave off for a few minutes. Now plug back in and power up with the ON/OFF button. This will have cleared the cache and you should be good to go,
    without having to re-download everything.

Issues with your Xbox 360 console can often be resolved by removing temporary files and data from the system cache. The cache stores such items as game updates, system update installation packages, and gamer pictures of your friends.

Clearing the Xbox 360 cache does not remove:

    •Your gamertag

    •Content that you have downloaded

    •Game files

    •Console software updates

Note: Clearing the cache temporarily removes previously downloaded game updates. You will be prompted to download these updates again the next time you try to play the games

1.Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

    2.Select Storage or Memory.

    3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller. (It doesn't matter which storage device you select; the cache will be cleared for all storage devices.)

    4.Select Clear System Cache.

5.When prompted to confirm storage device maintenance, select Yes.

Greetings, Watery Viper. Let's back up a little bit here. To start, can you please take a look at this troubleshooting guide titled "Screen Freeze Solution"?
It will offer some good troubleshooting steps which will help shed light on the source of the issue.

In addition, I would not recommend using compressed air. If possible, I would, however, recommend using a light vacuum. That is a much better option and should cause no harm to the inner workings of your console.
