System app issue

i recovered my account on a friends xbox and since then my settings app has been glitched. What i mean by this is that when i go into the settings app on my account(every other account is fine, even guests) there are just three headers (console, family,
other) and the only thing i can select is the profile of a family member, but when i do that the app crashes. beyond the profile picture of family members, there are no settings, it is just black, ill add a picture.

ive managed a few times to even get it to display my settings correctly, but if i exit out of the screen they will disappear.

i talked to xbox support and they gave me the basic troubleshooting steps, clear persistent storage, remove account, sign in and out, but nothing worked

so idk what to do. seems like id need a tech or someone to deglitch my account personally.

please help.

Microsoft may remove XBOX live restriction for Netflix.

why thats great it reaches beyond netflix.

apps like, hulu plus, amazon, (not on xbl)pandora and other apps should be released as well..

it makes sense to have interest/control on apps that are microsoft.. nfl, microsoft music,movies, skype,wwe since they are holding the rights to the apps and providing the support.

but the next hurdle in this battle will be one that stems from microsoft washing its hands of those apps. the support itself.. remember the issues netflix was havng with the xb1 for a month or so.. it ended up being a netcode glitch/error on microsofts end. now its going to take netflix to figure it out and show microsoft the issue and how it needs to be fixed.. its not going to be microsoft saying oh we have an issue lets fix it.

i am not against it bundled in with xblive or under the pay wall. most everything we do on xb1/360 requires live at this point.. and microsoft does a killer job on servers,network stability and general support. the last thing i want them to do is washing their hands from the big apps and not supporting them as much.. because really its not their baby they ae not making a dime of it and i wouldnt feel bad if they dont trouble shoot it for the owner..
this would also translate to new apps.. microsoft has a killer team of smart people.. when an app hits you want stability and the ability to troubleshoot.. the developers at microsoft know the system and how it works and can figure out issues.. so apps like time warner cable and others mght want the support but since you have ot pay for it microsoft may say we wont support it past allowing it on the system..

 

Issues With Apps

Have any of you had any issues with your Xbox Live apps today? I use Netflix, Crackle, and Hulu through my Xbox on a daily basis but today, I am having issues getting any of them to load. I know it's not my internet connection, because I don't have any issues when I'm on my computer. Is it just me?

Did support get you to power cycle the console? Seems simple, but it can fix a whole wealth of problems.

To do it, with the console on, hold down the power button for 10seconds until the console switches off, leave it for a minute or two, then fire it back up. Then give it another shot, and report back the results

yeah i tried that, its just my account.

 

i dont think this will ever be fixed. i can just feel it. oh well. too bad you cant actually interact with someone who can actually do anything at microsoft.

Nah, it shouldn't be an issue with your profile, the system settings are something stored on the console itself, and not your profile.

Its all good, I should be able to give you a few things to try, and if I fail I'm sure a support agent will take over and sort you out Before they can though, we'll just have to check a few things

So, is your profile still on the other console? I'd delete it from there, and only have it on your own console, as that may fix it. Is also worth deleting your profile from your console, and redownloading it, as that may also fix the issue. Before you do
that, make sure its deleted from the other console though. Once that is done, follow the link below which contains steps on how to delete it from yours, and it also has some pointers on how you can delete it from the other console too:

Someone apparently took pity on me and fixed my account, the settings were glitched on my account across multiple xboxes, and i had a cute happy feet penguin as my gamer picture but when i logged in a couple days ago my cute profile pic was gone, and my
settings were fixed. The custom gamer pic i dont think was the cause since i am the only one i have heard of having this issue and i know multiple people with custom pics.
