Syncing data for Fallout 4, Something went wrong error

I've been playing Fallout 4 since release with no problems but all of sudden last night when I decide to get back on after the "press any button screen" Syncing data for Fallout 4 pops up. It finishes but when it does finish it goes straight to Something
went wrong Error code: 0x838601e7, please try again. Trying again doesn't work it just takes me back to the error message where I have the option to try again or go offline.

Anyone know how to fix this?I have one xbox one and every other game/app syncs or runs perfectly. I already tried a hard reset, do I clear local saved data? Does that mean I lose all my saved data so far since playing?

    :)

    Fallout 3 Code redeem error

I got Fallout 4 from a local store and with it a code for Fallout 3 as well. But when I try to redeem it on my Xbox One or Xbox.com, I end up with the "Something went wrong error"

  4. Syncing data for Fallout 4, Something went wrong error

I had the exact same thing happen to me yesterday. Tried syncing it a hundred times but could only recover some of the saves, lost about six hours of gameplay. Hope someone answers this for me cause i really dont feel like doing the same missions over again.

Believe it or not my Fallout 4 data took 2 hours to sync to 99% last night. I got the something went wrong error. Tired to sync again. It then give me a option to play the game not using the cloud storage. I choose that option and all my saves were still
there. Once I had done that I tried again this morning but it worked and only took 5 minutes to sync my saves.

I have spent 60+ hours in Fallout 4 so far. Losing all my progress would have been so annoying to say the least.

  6. I believe this occurs if the game doesn't successfully cloud sync when it exits, thus the error when cloud save is attempted on next game session.

This shouldn't mean any data is lost, - just load the latest local save (which is created anyway) and when you carry on playing, both local and cloud saves should be updated when you next save.

If you use a single Xbox One, there should be no issues. I have 3 in my house (lucky me) and it's only if I move Fallout 4 between consoles will it be unable to load a local save over a cloud save - so I just use the local load until cloud save is successful.
    Hope that helps! >8o)

    Hey guys,

The fix that I have found works for this issue is as follows:

Go to your settings ,then into network settings.

    Go offline

Then, give you console a hard boot by holding down the power button on the front of the console for 10seconds until the console switches off. Wait for a minute of two, then turn it back on.

Go back online if it hasn't signed you in automatically.

Try again, and let us know how you go Syncing data for Fallout 4, Something went wrong error :)

    Cheers

okay so i have been having this problem too but its not even about loading saves, the little window pops up saying "Syncing data for Fallout 4..." and it never EVER loads. which means i can not play this game at all, and i have over 4 days played and to

  14. This is what worked for me

    1. Move all game content from external HDD/SSD to internal storage (if its on an external drive)

    2. Reboot Router

    3. Go to wireless network settings/alternate MAC address then press clear

    4. Xbox will restart

    5. Once back on disable auto sign in (optional but makes it easier)

    5. Put xbox into offline mode (network settings)

    6. Hard reboot

    7. Once back on turn online mode back on

    8. Start fallout 4

    9. choose profile (who are you pops up)

    10. syncing should start and complete if it worked
