Syncing Data for Dark Souls 3 failing

When trying to sync my data from the cloud it takes close to 20 minutes to reach 99% and stalls there for a while then fails. This is the only game that won't sync for me. The save data is only 8.8 MB, this shouldn't be happening. I mentioned the
sync issue to some friends, literally every single one of them are experiencing it.

The only other time I've had issues with cloud storage was with Fallout 4 because of how large the save data file could get (but even then it just made syncing take a while, it never times out or fails)

I have tried leaving my console on overnight with the game closed to give it time to upload from my home console (which has never been necessary for any other game, not even Fallout 4). I just want to know what is causing this how to fix it.

Dark Souls Code not received

I pre-ordered Dark Souls 3 with promotion for the free backwards compatible Dark Souls. Dark Souls 3 is great but have not received code to download Dark Souls.

Well, I found an answer in another cloud storage issue thread on this forum. No guarantees this will work for anyone else brought here by a Google search, but this is what I got to work for me:

1. Completely power down the Xbox One using Power-saving mode (found under Settings>Power & startup) or by holding your finger on the power button on the console itself (I think you hold it for ten seconds)

2. Unplug the power cable. Let it sit unplugged for 30 seconds.

3. Plug the power cable back in.

4. Power the Xbox One up and make sure to sign out of your profile before launching the game.

5. Launch the Title you want to play and proceed to the Title Screen.

6. Attempt to bypass the Title Screen, and when the console asks who is playing, sign in as your profile.

7. Cloud storage sync should start. DO NOT CANCEL SYNC, just let it do its thing. If you cancel it, you'll need to start back at Step 1.

 

Same issue for me. Jfc, just let me store the save on a usb and ill walk it to my other xbox. This generation is super annoying with the barely functional networking crap.

 

Ive been continually trying to sync data for the last 8 hours or so. Ive tried hard resetting, reinstalling the game, deleting and reloading profile, etc. Nothing has worked. Oddly enough, i can sync data for all other games and apps Ive tried.

Between this issue, the retrieving calibrations issue, the game licensing issue that several people mentioned, im led to think there are some bad network issues woth dark souls 3. Very unfortunate. I cant decide if i want to just start over, 30 hours wasted,
or to ask for a refund.
