syncing data for a new game

i just downloaded a game, i got a message saying it was syncing data but it's been over half an hour and i still have it. i don't have any old play-throughs in this game saved due to this being a new game. would canceling end up corrupting the game itself?
or would i be fine?

If you have no saved games and haven't played the game before you can safely cancel it.

the xbox network haves this auto backup system called the clould so the last synced save data you will get back so if you planning to buy a new xbox series s system you just need the game you were playing and wait for it to sync and the save data be back. note data wont sync when consoles offline its best to always have it online or go online every little other to launch the game and sync the data.

Found another solution. Went into mamage game and deleted all game data which is the cloud sync data. Then started a new campaign and suddenly vc worked

I went to sync from my 500gb to my new 1tb consol dark souls 2... 100+ hours..

Yes , the game data is saved on the cloud and the season pass you purchase is linked to your account. When you log in to the new xbox box and launch fallout it will sync the save data.
