    Sync problem wired controllers

    Hi there,

I want to start with my appologies for my bad English. ;-)

I was just chatting with support and they asked me to post a message at this board. This is what I have:

    - 2 Xbox 360 consoles (Arcade and Slim, both updated)

    - 3 wired Xbox 360 controllers (bought in two different stores)

    - 5 wireless Xbox 360 controllers (but these are not related to my issue, just used them to test)

The problem exists as soon as I just want to use two wired controllers at the same time. When I insert the first wired controller, it works fine. The first light around the Xbox logo lights up, and the first light around the power button at the console lights
    up. (it becomes 'Player 1')

So far no problem, I can play and do whatever I want. But when I insert a second wired controller, it also becomes 'Player 1'. There is no change in the ring around the power button at the console. The light on the first controller just holds the first position,
but the controller itself stops working. Only the second controller can be used to control the Xbox.

As soon as I reconnect the first controller the situation doesn't change, but from now on I can use the first controller to control the Xbox, the second one stops working. So there is allways a working version, and a frozen version. The last connected controller
    is allways the working version.

When I disconnect the working version, the light on the Xbox console turns off. But the light of the frozen controller will stll work. It simply lost connection with the console without noticing it.

I found somebody with the same problem on YouTube, as you can see at . This person sended his Xbox back to Microsoft to repair, but it returned with the same problem. So he returned his two controllers to the store and replaced them with new ones. It still didn't solve the problem. So he bought
two controllers in a second store, and two more in a third store. Nothing really solves the problem, the only fix seems to buy as many controllers as you can and hope you get a working pair.

I started with this 'fix', that's why I have a third wired controller from another store. But as it didn't help I would like to post this as a hardware / software bug.

So this is what I've found so far:

    - this problem does not exists with wireless controllers

    - when I connect one wireless controller (connected as 'Player 1') the wired controllers both sign in as 'Player 2'

    - when I connect two wireless controllers (connected as 'Player 1' and 'Player 2') the wired controlles both sign in as 'Player 3'

    - the problem can't be fixed with using other USB ports

    - the problem can't be fixed with clearing the system cache

    - the problem can't be fixed with removing some updates

    - the problem can't be fixed with returning the console to Microsoft

    - the problem can't be fixed with returning the controllers to the store

Feel free to let me do some tests if you need more information. I allready ordered three more wired controllers and expect to receive them Friday.

    :)

2 Wired Controllers both "Sync" in the 1st Position (or as Player 1)

Same exact problem! 2 official wired controllers both sync to same player/light and one doesn't work. Each work separately. Anyone find a fix?

the wired controllers i have don't have sync buttons. i'm wondering if the problem is that i am using brand new black controllers on a four year old white xbox? are the black controllers designed for the newer xbox slim?

    cant connect controlers

Have you tried using a charge cable to connect your controller? If it doesn't sync when wired, then there is a big underlying problem.

Xbox controller won’t stay on longer then 3-5 seconds

While the controller is flashing, press the sync button on both the controller and console to re-sync the connection. Try this while the controller is wired to the console with a USB cord.

Xbox elite series 2 disconnect from my xbox one x all the time, 1 day old controller

Try updating the controller with the Wire in the Xbox Accessories App.

Then try an re sync the controller.
