Sync button on Xbox One X no longer works after recent update, cannot connect controller.

This does not work as in order to update the controller it need to be connected to the xbox. I thought it was my controller and i got a whole new one to experience the same issue..Even when i have it plugged in it is still not syncing and the sync button
on my xbox one x is not working at all.

I recently bought a new laptop and a new xbox one controller.

The Xbox One is connected via bluetooth, I've updated the xbox one controller using a USB C cable on the xbox accessories app.

However when I unplug the USB cable, the controller (still connected to the PC via bluetooth) does not work i.e. it is still connected and the bluetooth is recognised but when I try play a game (ubisoft ghost recon breakpoint), although the analogue sticks work, the other buttons (A,X,Y,B) do not work.

After the newest driver update for the controllers, I'm having issues too, I can only get it to work if I use the USB as well, The controller shows "connected" and shows the battery life etc, But no longer opens Game bar, Hopefully someone can report this to Microsoft.

It does not, but the Xbox One x controller does and can be used to connect with an Android phone for use with mobile gaming you just use the sync button on the controller to connect with your phone.

The sync button on my xbox one x will not work ive tried it all from powering down to the hard reset. Any ideas???

I'm sorry to hear that there's issues with the sync button.

I do know that there's an alternative way to sync your controller to the Xbox One.

You can sync your controller by connecting it via USB cable to the Xbox, once plugged in do the hard reset to your console.

Once it's back up try to see if you're able to use your controller wireless, or you can keep it wired.

I've tried with two different rechargeable batteries as well as standard batteries, still nothing. USB cable worked though.

It's worth noting that only the Xbox One X controller (just recently purchased from GameStop) has the connection issue and the sleep issue. I've got an Xbox One generation controller that syncs and sleeps as normal, but it has issues registering button clicks
so i try not to use it.
