Sync button on the side of Xbox is not working

Have you tested syncing with multiple controllers, or is this the only controller you've tested? If you haven't tried another controller, please give that a go and let us know how it goes.

I popped the side plate off, placed my index finger under the sync button and pressed my thumb onto the sync button and it worked.

Yes I did...hopefully this will work for you.. Left side of the xbox their is a button beside a USB port. It's the sync button, push that and use the sync button on the front of your controller.. Should work.. If not push the controller one first then the
box one.

One of the two is what I did

On the Xbox 360 right on the left side of the front usb ports is a sync button. On the back of the speed wheel is a small black sync button. Both these buttons must be pressed when the console and controller are on in order to sync the controller to the
console.

Have you tried syncing the controller to the console? Hold the sync button on the front of the controller and the sync button on the console (on the left side just before the usb) until the light on the controller syncs.

If that doesn't work then try heading over to Settings>System and update the controller to see if that helps.
