    sync button on console doesn't work


    Was having problems with dropping controllers and now my sync button on my console does nothing. I can press it and it makes a sound when the console is on like it is doing something
    but the light stays solid and controllers wont sync. Warranty just expired in December and Id really hate for this to be a hardware issue. Controller will work hardwired but once I disconnect
    it I can't do anything.

    Xbox stuck in update mode, can't install update from disc.

    This may or may not work but try holding in the sync button on your console and then power the console on keeping the sync button held in.

    Can you get the console to the dashboard at all ? Something that works on occasion is holding the sync button in on the console and powering the console on keeping the sync button held in.

    Yes I've tried everything in the how to. I turned my computer off and sit 3 feet away and it will still randomly disconnect but now I can not even get the console to go into sync mode. I push the button and it makes a sound sort of like a relay clicking(only
    when on doesn't make sound when off) but the console doesn't do anything.

    If you've tried the steps in the link, I think you may need to check your options for a repair.

    Controller Problems

    Have you tried syncing the controller to the console? Hold the sync button on the front of the controller and the sync button on the console (on the left side just before the usb) until the light on the controller syncs.

    If that doesn't work then try heading over to Settings>System and update the controller to see if that helps.

    Are you pressing the sync button on both the controller and the console at the same time? Try unplugging your console for a few minutes, plugging it back in, powering it up, and then try syncing by pressing the button on both controller and console at
    the same time. If that doesn't work, check your batteries. If this doesn't work my next guess would be that there may be a fault in the controller. Good Luck! Hope this helps!

    Xbox one console not connecting to controllers!

    connect the controller to the console with a USB cable, turn controller on hit the sync button. The controller should sync to the console and you can then disconnect the USB cable. If it doesn't work on one USB port try a different one.
