Switching xbox360 off

I switch off my xbox with the controller and it switches itself back on again. I have to press the button on the console to switch it off again. No other problems with it. What is wrong with it and is there anything I can do to stop it from doing that?

HP 2311 reboots my xbox360 twice

When I have my xbox360 connected to the HDMI port on my monitor and I switch the input to HDMI with the power off on the xbox360 it will reset the xbox360 2 times before video shows up. And if the power is already on. the xbox360 resets 2 times before video
shows up. Also after playing and then Switching with the power still back to my PC (DVI) it will reset the xbox360 1 time and leave the power on. If I turn the xbox360 off and then switch the input back to my PC the monitor then has to go into sleep mode before
it will let me switch inputs.

It sounds like there may be a connection problem from the controller, try using a different controller if you have one, if you don't try replacing the batteries and see if that works.

Do the lights indicate any controllers are connected?

If so, unplug wired ones remove batteries from wireless etc.

Check HDMI cables, the xbox has an auto detect setting that can be a pain in the ***.

Try without network cables plugged in if you have one in

Remove CDs from drive.

my xbox has plenty of space around 1ft on the sides and the to has nothing above i tried it again this morning and it lasted around 6 mins before it cut off yesterday it didnt even let get on dashboard the day before i managed to play 20 mins before it went
off all the time the fans were working the power light stays green when it goes off then it sounds as though it was trying to read the disk so i have now idea whats wrong

Hey there Colin! I'm wondering if your console is getting enough power. What color is the light on your power supply when the console is powered on? Also, can you try a couple new electrical sockets and see if any of them yield better results?

Before that i will speak about a security feature of slim models have, they have a protection acts to previne the xbox "burn him alive" = protection against overheating!!!

Now my question?

Do you put some case in your 360 or that have? (in that case the problem maybe is the ventilation exist is bloqued and cause that problem).

You have changed your 360 of place or he allways "living" in a space whif less ventilation options? (= a much closed space, if that you have to change 360 for he have a better ventilation).

Do you have a eletrical problem in your house? (that´s is the worse of all, because or something exterior cause a problem in fan sensor or in the fan and that causes to 360 works whiout correct refigeration, in that case the assistance have to be contact
if inside the time of waranty you have just wait your 360 be replaced, if not...you have to wait the repair...
