Switching Xbox Live Gold to a different account

I just recently bought Xbox Live Gold for 1 year and I accidently put it on the wrong Xbox account. Can I switch it from one account to a different one?

Are Xbox Live Gold memberships fixed to email or gamertag?

Question as stated in title. Are Xbox Live Gold membership accounts fixed to one's Microsoft email or Gamertag? I am currently waiting the 30 day period as I am in the middle of switching my gamertag to a different email. Gamertag A on Microsoft account
A switching to Gamertag A on Microsoft account B etc. The gold membership on my account A recently expired. My concern is that if I renew my yearly account for A and when I switch my gamertag to a different email, the subscription would only be Microsoft account
A(and not on the gamertag itself) which I am no longer using- the Microsoft account A. Would appreciate any help on this thanks!

You cannot merge two accounts. Your xbox live gold cannot be switched to a different account

Do you have Xbox LIVE Gold on a different account? If so, switch to that account.

Yes, if you purchase the Xbox Live Gold subscription on your account you can use it on any console you wanted.

Also, If you're looking to use the Xbox Live Gold that is being shared with you, I apologize but an account can only be set as Home Xbox to one device at a time, if we switch it on a different console we'll lose 1 switch and we only have 5 switches per year.

if you want to free up a Microsoft Account ( Live ID ) so you can use it with your Gold account you will need to change GT that is currently using that Microsoft Account to a different Microsoft Account and that will free up the email you want to use with
your gold account. See the steps below if you are not sure how to change the Microsoft Account.
