Switching to new account. Will I keep my games?

the games if bought with the child account, stay with the child account, this should have been upgraded to an adult account if your the right age and you could have changed the gamertag then you would not have to start all over again. but your purchases
will be on your original account permanently.

You will need to keep the account that bought the games on your console if you want to play them on another account.

Be aware that not all the dlc may work on your new account.

There is no possibility of transferring a game to another account, access is unique and exclusive to that account.

Now, some users often create an alias within their Microsoft account. Alias has the same features and signatures added to the account as it only changes how you log in, however it is the same account.

If you think about making this alias the default, and removing the old one. Be careful because:

- If you remove an alias that's an email address from a Microsoft domain (like @hotmail.com, @live.com, @outlook.com, or @msn.com), you're permanently deleting the alias and it can't be associated with any Microsoft account again.

- If you're removing a primary alias, you'll need to choose another primary alias before it can be removed.

- If you remove an email address from a non-Microsoft domain (like @gmail.com), then it usually becomes immediately available to be added as an alias on another Microsoft account.

the game loads but on my old monitor i can't switch it to my new one like you can on steam. i tried unplugging it to see if it would switch since it wouldn't detect the monitor but it keeps loading the game on the old monitor position.

Well, you just made a little mistake in it. Setting up a new account with the correct email address was not meant to be set up as a new gaming account on your Xbox, but as a new account on live.com because then it has no gamertag associated.

Take this guide here and do it again. In the guide is also explained how to unbound the unwanted gamertag from your live account. Just keep in mind that "create a new account" is not meant as "create a new Xbox profile" but as create a new account on www.live.com
