I have a 60gb and i want to upgrade to a 250 gb. Say i put the 250 in my xbox and recover my account on it, then file transfer, will i be able to then download everything that was on my old hd to the 250 and have it become my primary hard drive?

    :)

    Can't play downloaded games

Hi, have you changed anything like your XBOX 360's hard drive, perhaps upgraded to a larger one or replaced it completely with one purchased from an online store like eBay or Amazon Marketplace? If so, more than likely this hard drive you did get is a knockoff
and is not an original XBOX 360 hard drive. Since both of these games are original XBOX games, they require that an original XBOX 360 hard drive be in place in order for them to work.

Only the original XBOX 360 hard drives have the emulation files needed to play original XBOX games on the 360 console. If you haven't changed your hard drive at all and were able to play (without any changes done to your system in the last few months) then
this is more than likely an issue with your original hard drive. The only real test to see if this is the case would be to get a new hard drive or a used one as long as it was an original Microsoft manufactured hard drive and put that in the system and download
your profile and either game on it to see if it works. It's quite possible that the emulation files on the hard drive you have now are damaged in some way which is preventing these original XBOX games from starting up.

  3. Question about 320gb hard drive....

The Xbox 360 320GB hard drive for the slim is internal, not external, and it is not compatible with the older style console. I think the largest drive for the original console was 250GB.

Hello Mood Swinngs! When you purchase the new hard drive, you should get a cable and disc that will transfer all of your game saves and important data over to the new drive but it also deletes everything off of your old one after the process is done. I highly
suggest that if you have any game saves that you also put them on the could saves drive or on a USB stick ,as I lost some of mine when I went through this process. As for all of your downloaded content, you'll have to redownload it all, but since it's attached
to your account, you won't have to pay for it again.

You don't actually need to put the saves on a usb disc. Because you're gold you can set up and use the Cloud on the console. Simply transfer the saves to the Cloud and they'll be there when you set up the new drive.

XBOX 360 first gen HD transfer issue (128G to 250G)......

Hello Robert R, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

Unfortunately, the Xbox 360's hard drive capacity is limited by the console and it is not possible to easily expand the storage space beyond the official options provided by Microsoft. Even if you have installed a larger capacity hard drive, the Xbox 360 will only recognize and use the amount of space available for the original 128GB model.

On the original Xbox 360, the hard drive capacity limit is 250GB, so even if you installed a larger hard drive, the console will only use up to that limit. There is no official way to expand storage space beyond that limit.

It is important to note that any unofficial modifications to the Xbox 360 hardware or software may violate Microsoft's terms of use and void the console's warranty.

    Best regards.

Never mind I figured out the issue. I had to switch out the 500GB hard drive I bought on eBay for the original hard drive that came with my 360 and it finally downloaded the needed patch. It works =)
