Switching profiles on an Xbox makes games crash

We understand that you would like to play the same game your friend has on their Xbox Console. Let us check on this together and sort this out in timely manner.

It is likely that the game crashes because of the licenses otherwise it is related to the game issue. Please provide us details about this concern:

1. May we know if you have enabled or set your account as Home Xbox on your friend's console?
   
2. Is there an error message/code you are getting?
   
3. How many games were affected?
   

Troubleshooting you can try:

Try Power Cycle console:

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
   
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.
   Important Be sure to wait at least 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
   
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
   
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.
   

Sign out and sign back in to the console.

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We see you have question on a game crashing. Have you tried

uninstalling and reinstalling the profile of the one crashing? Also, do you switch directly from one profile to the other without completely quitting the game? Make sure to quit the game completely before switching profiles.

Same here multiple updates and still to this day the xbox one x crashes for me playing modern warfare. Its a hard crash and makes me want to switch to PlayStation 4.

Switch to another profile!!! I'm not sure why this seems to work but I read this from another thread but switching to an alternate profile seems to work like a charm! Dont play with the main profile that bought Civ and the dlcs. Normally on my main I start crashing on my Xbox every 10 turns after turn 100 but since I started playing Civ on my smurf account I made it to the atomic Era 200+ turns on a large map and still no crashing but fingers crossed that I can finally finish a game 🤞 Just be sure to boot up the game on the alternate profile rather than switching in game. I hope this helps as much as it helped me!! Made the game playable for me again and I couldn't thank the original guy enough that made this suggestion!
