Switching gold payment methods

So I just got an Xbox one and signed up directly through the website for live via my credit card. I haven't been billed for it yet as the first month is free. I've decided I wanted to remove my credit card and use a 12 month gold live card to sign up for
gold.

If I cancel my gold sub and add this 12 month sub card, will that 12 month sub start at the end of the 30 days free, or right away?

Also I received a 14 day free trial of live with my console. If I add that and the 12 month sub card, will I effectively get 12 1/2 months of service before I had to resub?

edward0fr, if you are seeing this error message when you attempt to sign up for a Family Gold subscription, this may be due to the association of payment methods to your current subscription. Did you previously use the same PayPal payment method for your
Live subscription prior to switching to prepaid cards?

I would reccomend to sign into billing.microsoft.com and attempt to edit your payment options there, it will not let you delete a payment method on an active gold account without switching payment options first but if its not even letting you do that on
the website i mentioned call 18004699269 (18004myxbox) get to the billing department

It will start at the end of the 30 days.

No. Trial cards are not the same Gold membership. It only has some of the benefits of gold, not all of them. Those won't stack.

There is the option to "stack" subscription cards where you're able to have up to 3 years.

Also, don't forget to get the free game each month. Even if you're no longer a gold account. you can still keep the games (on the Xbox One, not on the 360, I don't know why this is).

Sorry, it is not possible to get a gold membership with microsoft points. You will need to add a payment method to your account and use that payment method to upgrade to gold status. Payment methods can be added here: commerce.microsoft.com

A valid payment method is required to make purchases or to receive the GwG (Games with Gold.) If you have a valid payment method registered on file with currency on the account, it will prompt you to use the currency before using the card.

Side Note: Microsoft Points was retired a couple years ago and switched to localized currency.
