    I want to change gamertags and associated microsoft accounts as described in this support article: Error 0x8015402d | Microsoft Account Error | Xbox 360 Error

    Because I had to download gamertagA (my old gamertag) back onto my console, I had to wait a minimum of 30 days before continuing.

    I did step 2 (created a dummy Microsoft account to use) and then got to step 3 (the microsoft account I want to use - microsoft account 1 - was no longer associated with my old gamertag). However at this point I had to wait another 30 days before proceeding.

    In the meantime I got a new Windows 8 phone and proceeded to set it up using Microsoft account 1 as that is the account that I have over 1 TB of onedrive storage and the account that I'm trying to use for xbox / xbox music, etc. However, some of the games
    I played on the phone (and my kids played) were xbox games and my Microsoft account 1 got associated with a new xbox gamer tag. This was set up automajically by Microsoft since the account was not already associated with an xbox gamertag. So now I'm back to
    square one. I started trying to do this last Christmas. It's now the end of August.

    So I can download the new gamertag onto my console...and wait another 30 days. I can create another dummy account and disassociate the new gamertag from my Microsoft account 1. Then I'll have to wait another 30 days before I can proceed again...during which
    time, if one of the kids or if I forget and play an xbox game on my phone, I'll be right back to square one AGAIN.

    The 30 day wait between steps because I can't move or download a gamertag during that time is utter agony. There's got to be a better way - please help.

    Help Can't change The Microsoft Account Linked to my Xbox live GT

    Hi there,

    the only option to be able to use your xbox live account on your Phone would be by using the same Microsoft Account on both devices.

    The problem you might be facing is that the Phone will generate another xbox live gamertag when an account is used without xbox live account.

    So when doing this, you might want the Phone to be powered off when switching things around

    Also be aware that you can only move an xbox live account if the xbox live account has been on a console for at least 30 days (without it being (re)downloaded)

    The regions of both Microsoft Accounts may need to match too and sometimes any currency/funds on the xbox live account may need to be used prior to moving the xbox live account.

    you can Change msa on https://account.live.com without that 30d, but you Need to be careful when changing MS own email address, Outlook / live / MSN / Hotmail because you actually loose Access to your
    email accounts if you disconnect them like that.

    by doing it on your xbox you only move gamertags without touching the email accounts and other Services.

    you can Change msa on https://account.live.com without that 30d, but you Need to be careful when changing MS own email address, Outlook / live / MSN / Hotmail because you actually loose Access to your

    Fortunately there is no bug and everything works as it is intended, but the issue you are having can be sorted only on xbox console at the moment. The Microsoft Account (MSA) can be changed on the Gamertag only on the console. Since you are signed in on
    Win8 with your account that is the main login account to the Windows system but each app can be logged in with different MSA hence your wife's MSA on one of the app.

    Your Xbox account is attached to your Microsoft account. I'm assuming that you created a new Microsoft account (or already had one) that wasn't associated with your gamertag when you setup your phone.

    I'm not sure if the instructions there will fix it, but it is a good start.
