Switching between game versions

So Dying Light 2 just came out and my brother bought it for us because we're game sharing. However, I have a Series X and he has the One S, so it won't let us play together. At first I was shocked but figured I could get around it. I force installed it to my hard drive but it won't even launch now, and says I need to transfer it to play. I would really like to be able to switch between versions or be able to download the non optimized version to a hard drive, or something of the equivalent. He can't just go buy a Series X and it's not like I can buy a downgraded version, so we literally can't play together. I feel like this is a huge issue and only restricts the ability for people to play with their friends and family across platforms, which COULD easily be resolved.

Your purchase grants you access to both versions. Install the Xbox One version on your series X and you’ll be good to go for coop.

You have to have the disc in the drive to play the game. You can switch between games instantly by having the digital versions.

He likely switched games while it is saving, most games will start up with some kind of message that will say to look for a certain icon because that’s when the game is saving

The insider program beta for Minecraft is for the newer version of the game. The Xbox One Edition of the game is no longer being updated. It was replaced with Bedrock version which is crossplay enabled between Windows 10, Xbox one, mobile and Nintendo
Switch.

Cross play on Minecraft is only available to xbox one, mobile, nintendo switch and windows 10 devices which has the better together/bedrock edition.

Realms is only available on these version of the game.

Can not do cross play between different version of the game.
