    Switching account info to new gamer tag


    hey so i have an account on 360 which has a gold membership but i would live to play on a new account (new gamertag) and start new. So i was wandering if there was a way of me switching the account info of my current account to a new gamer tag?

    So, how many of you are 10 year Xbox Live gamers?

    I started with the xboxlive beta with the headset and MotoGP disk, but I currently have a new different gamer tag due to my associated Hotmail account going inactive, due to not logging into email, and thus preventing me from renewing the live account. I had to create a new account while I went through the steps of recovery for the Hotmail address. Once recovered, I simply stayed with my new gamer tag... Now associated with the old Hotmail account. :-(

    Migrating A Gamertag To A New Microsoft Account

    Has anyone migrated a gamer tag to a newly created Microsoft account?

    If so, will my achievements and gamer tag points be moved over as well?

    Hi if you are simply changing your gamer tag then yes it will as it will switch to the new gamer tag.

    Every time I try to switch my gamer tag to another email in account management it says "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now. For more info go to Xbox.com/AccountSwap." and tried later today and it still wouldn't work.

    If you want the gamer tag you can change the Microsoft accounts around. However you will lose all achievements etc from the other account. You'll need to make a new email with Microsoft transfer your old profile to that one then transfer your old email to
    the new profile with the desired GamerTag. Otherwise you'll need to change the gamertag on the account with the gamer tag you want then change it to the gamer tag you want on the account you primarily use. Changing your GamerTag costs $10 per switch. So all

    try changing the gamer tag on the old account then you should be able to use that gamer tag on your new account.
