Discus and support Switch profile to owner to play this game. in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I just bought an xbox one on thanksgiving.     Switch profile to owner to play this game.


    I just bought an xbox one on thanksgiving. A while a go I bought Powerstat gold off Xbox.com, and put my Xbox on my buddies Xbox one so we could try it out and play it. Fast forward to today when I have my own Xbox one set up and I try to play Powerstar
    Golf and its telling me to change to the profile of the person who owns the game. Mind you I bought it a while ago before it was ever installed on an Xbox. So I'm really confused as to what the problem is and how to Fix it. Or am i just out of 20$ now.

    Xbox love access.

    Let me explain the home xbox system a little better for you also.

    1. No matter what console a profile is signed into that profile will always be able to use any subscription it has and play any digital game it owns.

    2. Each profile can set ONE console at a time as its home console and on that home console any other profile can then use any subscription and play any of the digital games that the profile that has the console set as home owns.

    3. Each profile can only switch which console is set as its home console FIVE times a year before it has to wait a year to make another switch.

    Can 2 family members play the same game under different avatars?

    As Bazajaytee has stated, each Avatar profile has it's own saves, so you can switch between the profiles to create saves specific to that user. You will want to let each person know to make sure they save content prior to logging out of their Profile (Avatar).

    This should allow each member to play the same game with different progress in the game.

    Keyboard stops working in-game after switching profiles

    Hi Mateus,

    Thank you for the additional suggestion to unplug the keyboard and mouse after switching profiles. The mouse continues to work, but not the keyboard after switching profiles. When I switch back to the owner profile, the keyboard works fine. Very strange. Any other suggestions?

    When you say giving your credentials to someone else to play on Console B, whaaat... Only the owner profile can play on a xbox other than the console that has license.

    And I just did a test for a random thing, I put a game onto a usb and downloaded xbox updates. No other device connected. With no profile on the device at all, I selected the game and it worked (obviously offline). I then downloaded a NON owner profile onto
    the usb and the game loaded fine and online worked. So the owner profile does not even need to be on the console anymore to be able to play the games. But neways... blaaahh...

    Yeah you can play single player games if not connected but you have to be the original content owner and you wont be able to access your saved games..Plus I think profile sharing will not be an option because Kinect will know if you are the owner of that

    Let me see if I can explain it a little better for you.

    No matter what console a profile/account is on it will always be able to download and play any of its digitally bought games and use any of its subscriptions (EA access, Gold, Gamepass).

    Each account/Profile can set ONE console at a time as its home console and any other profile on that console can play any of that profiles digital games and use any of its subscriptions without the owners profile being signed in.

    Keep this in mind each profile/account can switch which console it has set as its home console only FIVE times a year.

    Try signing in as the original original owner of the game, re-installing the game from that profile, then sign out whenever you switch Xbox's. I've encountered similar problems, sometimes even still stating that I'm signed in on one Xbox when I'm actually
    on the other.
