Switch off microphone readout icon

Recently i have had an icon in the top right corner that lets you know if somebody is talking. I dont need this as if there is any background noise it is always up and generally blocking my minimap on CoD or Apex. Is there a way to switch it off?

In the party there should be a setting called party overlay, you can also move it to different parts of your screen

Sounds like you need to go into your Kinect settings and switch the Microphone off.

I have been having the same issue for a few months now. I switched headsets and controllers and nothing helps (these same headsets/headphones work perfectly on other devices). Originally, I could still hear audio through the headset, but now I get nothing.
The microphone icon next to the battery icon in the upper right corner is crossed out and in a party it says “microphone is not available for these people”. When I go into settings, it says that my microphone is on.

I have tried every troubleshooting thing I can find and nothing helps.

This is beyond frustrating.

What type of headset? Is it a microsoft branded or 3rd party. That icon means the microphone is on mute.

If you have an Xbox headset, there is a microphone and volume button on the wire. You could have this switched off. You want to put the slider thing to the microphone symbol with no line through.
