Switch between Sky box input and USB TV tuner

Unfortunately I don't think that is a compatible set up for Live TV on the Xbox One because Video output or input is through HDMI so the Xbox will not be able to get any video without an HDMI output from a cable box or if you have the official Xbox One USB
TV Tuner. There is no way to input the built in tuner's details manually to get a picture through IR, it must be through HDMI or the Xbox USB TV Tuner.

The support articles I provided before states all of that information and also describes the best way to connect home theater systems and unfortunately IR video output is not possible on the Xbox.

This may be irrelevant, but I have a question about the TV tuner. I understand that you plug the tuner into the XB1 through USB, not HDMI. I have an Xbox 360 hooked up to my XB1 through the HDMI-in port. In order to play 360 games, I have to use the TV app,
and the TV tuner uses the TV app as well in order to work. I also understand that when you plug in the TV tuner, the OneGuide separates the TV tuner channels from the "HDMI content". My question is this: if I have a TV tuner with a coax cable connected through
the XB1's USB port AND an Xbox 360 connected through the XB1'S HDMI-in port (both at the same time), can I switch between my Xbox 360 and my TV tuner when using the TV app? Thanks for the help!

This could happen. We're in modern times where you don't really need the card in the Sky box, everything can be registered online where you can put in your details, an activation number etc. The Xbox could have a proper app that emulates the Sky or Cable
interface exactly how it appears on your current providers box, you could plug the cable input directly in to the Xbox digital TV tuner and use your Xbox one as your main viewing source, centre of attention in place of your current Sky, Cable box that you
could dispose of.

We already have Sky go, we know it's possible so why can't we have every channel available?

The Sky Q box will only be able to see what it is plugged into, in your case its plugged into the Xbox One X.

Why don't you plug the Sky Q box into the TV, let the box "discover" your LG TV, once the Sky box knows what sort of picture it can display then plug the Sky output into the Xbox One X input.

tried that when you plug it back in it only offers 1080

No idea then, possibly that feature is coming in a future update.

Does it really matter though? cant you just plug Sky Q into one of the other TV inputs?
