Swapping out xbox one top plate?

Due to some careless handling by both myself and some others, the top plate of my XB1 is somewhat scratched up now. I know it's only cosmetic and shouldn't bother me so much, but I'm kinda OCD about things and so it irks me. Thus, I ask the question above:
is it possible for me to swap out the top plate (the part next to the fan grill), or is the outer casing one solid piece that I can't remove? Thanks in advance for your help.

The n64 has a compartment on the top which opens where you could switch out the ram pack to an upgraded one, think of it as swapping batteries in a controller

i seem to have a thing to just leave my games on top of my xbox when i take them out to swap games.

 

You could always skin it. I am planning on applying a halo MCC skin to my scratched Xbox One.

 

When I get around to it, going to cut some stainless steel sheets for mine.

That's an interesting idea using stainless steel. You won't have to worry about scratches then

 

Anyone remember when loads of people used to mod their original Xbox cases? It was almost a competition at the time, I'd taken out the plastic Xb disc in the middle, cleared the green of it and used a dremel on the case, followed by adding blue led lights.

Anyway op, i'd say you could buy a 3rd party plate or just skin it. I like these guys

So the consensus is using some kind of 3rd party skin or plate. Gotta say, that's even better than replacing it. Thanks for all the awesome tips (and reminiscing about the good ol' days.. Haha).

 

Ah the old Xbox days a lot of great case mods were made. I was never game enough do my console though.

 

check out decalgirl they have some nice skins and you can get them in glossy or matte. I got them for my one and ps4

Thanks for the DecalGirl tip guys. I actually ordered one from there a couple days ago. It seems I got glossy without even realizing it, and now I'm wondering if I should exchange it for a matte. Any suggestions?
