Swapping email addresses on accounts

I have 2 old xbox accounts

1 linked to my main email which I only briefly used

1 linked to a very old email address where i bought games and did the majority of achievements

I would like to use my main email address on my main account before I purchase game pass but I cant work out how I can swap these round

Its seems to be the only way to get cross play.

I also find that if i sign out of xbox on pc and then go to sign back in it auto using my main email address, dont have the ability to sign in on my other one via the app only via browser.

you can't swap them, the microsoft account is the xbox account is the email, they are one in the same.

There isn't a way to swap accounts as contents and accounts cannot be transferred from one email to another.

Accounts can not be swapped. Once an account is attached to an email address, the only option is to change the primary email address associated with the account.

This has drawbacks, if the email address is a Microsoft one (@outlook, @hotmail, @live etc) you can not remove it completely, as it would shut down the email address and all other services that that email address had access to, like Microsoft office, purchases

Hello so you cant swap accounts and you wont be able to use your email address since you already have an account associated with it.

You can only remove accounts from the family, if you are wanting to change the gamer tag associated with an email address you will need to get another email address to associate it with.

There is no way to swap to email around as these are bound to the account (depending if they are outlook emails).

If you are wanting to remove a gamertag from an account you would need to pay for it to be changed.
