Suspicious Email Saying I Won a Computer, asks for SS number

Apologies for the confusion. We have reached out to our win fulfillment team to confirm the legitimacy of this email. They have confirmed that this is a legitimate win email.

This email is due to a second prize that you won from participating in the "VIP Exclusives" offer that occurred recently (this was the offer with the roulette spin that you previously won 50,000 Credits on). It appears that one of
our winners did not claim their prize. Since you were a runner up, you were selected as the new winner for this prize! Our team also informs us that due to the value of this prize, you are required to fill out a two page form for tax purposes, which is why
it requests your social security information. Again, apologies for the confusion. Congrats on your win!

I ALSO got an almost identical email from HelloWorld on 8/23 saying i am a winner in this same sweepstakes. My email looks almost identical to the attached email, with the same attachments etc. Like other users, i am suspicious because the winners were to be announced by 6/14. Also, the email tells me to fax a form that includes my social security number within 7 days or i forfeit the price.

It also seems suspicious that at least 3 different people all got a prize notification from HelloWorld on 8/23, especially when the winners were supposed to be announced earlier.

Finally, it doesnt seem to be possible to contact HelloWorld at all. Their website does not include a phone number and while they have a form to send a message to them, i have tried using it multiple times using 3 different browsers, and my phone plus my computer, and i always get an error message that says the message did not go through. With no ability to get in touch with them in any way i am not going to give my SS% out.

well if they don't know your email then they dont know you won anything. i'd be suspicious of that.

Didn’t the form ask you to provide your SS#? The form attached to the email posted by hawkhunter13 asked for the SS, as did the one attached to the email i got. Did you leave that part blank or was the form totally different?

Do you still have the original email you got saying you won? Id gove that number a call andsee.if they can shoot you another email
