Suspension for what reason?

The enforcement team have ruined my son’s weekend. They suspended his account for two weeks for ‘communication’. We don’t know what he’s done wrong and they aren’t telling us. I have applied for a case review.

Is it true that you can be suspended for saying a curse word, and if so how come youtubers can curse? Are they playing on a PlayStation maybe? And surely to god if you don’t like what someone is saying can you not just mute or block that person?

I’m really getting sick to death or these suspensions, it’s happening about 3 times a year, although his gamer reputation is good. On the Xbox 360 there was an ‘underground‘ group to play in where you could curse if you want.

He has a PlayStation 4 pro, maybe he should just switch over to it. He’s been on Xbox for 8 years though and he loves it and his friends are on it, but this is getting ridiculous.

Yes you can get suspended for saying a curse word. It's a violation of the code of conduct. Just because there may be videos of people doing so on YouTube does not mean It's allowed.

Being Underground on the 360 did not mean you could she what you wanted. You still had to follow the same rules.

The rules are the same on PlayStation.

 

I didn’t say that you could say what you wanted in underground on 360.

I said you could curse if you wanted, and I think it’s ridiculous that you can’t now. I’ve seen loads of people online saying they are moving to PlayStation because they are much less strict.

I would like to know what exactly my son said so he would know not to do it in future, but they can’t even tell me.

as long as the rules on that page are followed you do not have to worry about getting suspended if reported.

At least with the xbox system you have a chance to file for a case review while with the playstation when your suspended you do not get a chance for a case review.

Doesn't matter if you were set to "underground" on the 360,you still could get suspended for swearing.

The rules were exactly the same no matter what your "gamerzone" was set as.

The whole "gamerzone" thing on the 360 didn't work anyway.

If you son keeps getting suspended then it's because he keeps violating to ToU/CoC.

Might be worth going through the code of conduct with him so he knows what isn't allowed on xbox live.

As already mentioned,the rules are the same on PSN/PlayStation although they tend to not give people as many second chances as xbox does when you are caught breaking their rules.
