Surround speakers extremely loud - Xbox One

I recently upgraded my home theater set up and the side and rear speakers are much louder than the front and center speakers when using the Xbox One. I know it's an issue with the Xbox, because my Playstation 4, Steam Link, and any
sound coming from my TV through ARC is well balanced in all speakers. This problem is worse in games, but also present with videos (blu ray, netflix ...etc.). That's probably to do with sound separation and encoding being more pronounced with games. I did
not have this issue on my previous receiver. I upgraded to a Denon x3200 because I wanted Dolby Atmos encoding. I am not an audio novice, but I've tried every audio setting on the Xbox and they all have the same problem unless I do stereo uncompressed, and
tell the receiver to emulate surround, but this is far from ideal. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    :)

    Sound issues

Is anyone else having sound issues while in a game? The crowd jumps from loud to soft out of the surround speakers so much that it's almost unplayable. Whenever the commentators start talking the crowd sound drops and then gets loud again when the commentary
    stops. and because it's stop/start it's terrible!

    Xbox 360 surround sound question

DO NOT get a HTIB(Home Theater In A Box). You wanna go with an Audio/Video Receiver with 7.1 capabilities and the ability to decode Dolby trueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Then you can buy and connect whichever speakers you like. I use 3-way speakers and a
15" powered subwoofer. My surround system is insanely loud...I Love IT!!!!!!!! Bahahahahaha

Xbox One "'STEREO' Headset Adapter" clarity? Stereo or Simulated Surround Sound.

Based on a couple of information pieces (links below), I think the word "stereo" is mistakenly placed on the headset adapter. I don't have the exact facts and would also like to hear the official word from MS but think about this.. every surround sound
headset (except for ones with multiple speakers in the ear cups) use a stereo wiring. One wire for the Left speaker and one wire for the Right speaker. These wires come out from a surround sound processor (e.g. Astro Mixamp, TB DSS, etc) before they get
to speakers in the ear cups. The surround sound processor is what makes the headset a "surround sound" headset. These processors can do the same for ANY headset.

In the article linked from gamerawr, it states that MS is trying to negate the need for 3rd party audio processors by processing surround sound on the xbox one and feeding it to your headset via the headset adapter. Essentially taking place of a Mixamp,
    DSS, what have you...

Also, Turtle Beach is labelling their XO series headsets specifically for Xbox One and uses "Cenematic Surround Sound" as a touted feature of these headsets... you know how they connect to the xbox one? Via the headset adapter (included).

I think it's perfectly feasible to have surround sound coming through the headset adapters. I just hope MS confirms that is the case.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Xbox One doesn't support surround? what kind of amateur are you? Of course it does...... Make sure whatever sound option you have you have the same amount of speakers. 7.1 means you have 7 speakers plus a subwoofer. If you have this checked and only have
5 speakers you will lose audio because those speakers are missing. This is what it sounds like is your issue. Mine is set to DTS digital Surround which is 5.1 (5 speakers+ subwoofer.) I suggest you do the same.
