    Surround Sound Issues Virgin Tivo


    My set up is Virgin Tivo into Xbox One into Yamaha RX-V675 receiver. The audo output on Tivo is set to Dolby Digital. If I set the audio output on Xbox One to stereo the Pro Logic works on the receiver. If I set Xbox One to bitstream either DTS or
    Dolby Digital the info page on receiver shows it is receiving the correct signal type but I only ever get sound from the front speakers. The centre and rears are not used. I have tried 5.1, 7.1 and bitstream, nothing makes a difference.

    Playing games seems fine. Just seems to be a TV problem.

    Surround sound on Virgin Media Tivi Box not working through HDMI passthrough

    Hi Guys,

    I have just replaced my sky box with a Virgin Media Tivo Box

    With Sky I had full surround sound through HDMI passthrough, but with this box i only get 2.0

    Setup is Tivo-> Xbox One ->optical out to LG Surround Sound

    Anyone else had similar? Is there a magic setting to set!

    I appreciate its not out yet but is there a support forum somewhere for Xbox One?



    I currently run my DVR (Virgin Media Tivo) through my Surround Sound/Bluray player and then on into the TV, before the new console arrives I would like to know how I will be setting it up so I get surround sound and hopefully run the Tivo through it.



    Could you please direct me somewhere where this might be answered?

    My son watched Madagascar 3 from Tivo and surround is working on movies. Most programmes are stereo so miss the Pro-Logic. There should be a pass-through option for TV.

    This can be done. You will need to plug your Tivo box into the HDMI input of the xbox one, the you can use the digital optical audio out to have surround sound on your xbox and on your Virgin box. If your surround sound does not have a digital optical audio
    in, then you pick up a converter (for the red and white wires) so this will work. They are failry cheap on amazon, and work fine as I just bought one for my new TV...

    TV sound only in stereo

    I have the exact same issue. Virgin TiVo going into Xbox one via HDMI, then HDMI to 5.1 receiver, then HDMI to TV. No 5.1 from the Virgin TiVo movie channels, but everything else is fine.
