  1. Surround sound connection issues

    Hi everyone,

I've tried everything, even been on live chat with M* for hours and can't resolve this.

I'm trying to get the Xbox One to play sound through my blu ray surround sound. I have a Panasonic TX50-AX802b TV and a Panasonic BTT465 surround sound system. I've tried all the things I can find on the forum and still no joy.

    Tried 2 different set ups:

    1. HDMI from TV to Xbox One, HDMI from Xbox One to surround sound;
    2. HDMI from TV to Xbox One, optical cable from Xbox One to surround sound.
No sound coming through the surround sound at all.

Any help hugely appreciate, it's starting to drive me mad now Surround sound connection issues :)

    Thanks,

    Richard

    :)

right so just setting up my xbox so I can watch live tv. I have set up my surround sound as well and it works great when I'm watching

tv. It's when I switch to playing games it still stays on the tv audio? I've no idea how to fix it, probably something stupid. But I've been all over the settings and cant find anything. My set up is sky tv into Xbox via hdmi, xbox to tv via hdmi, optical
audio From xbox to surround sound via optical audio cable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there, Richard.

I'm not very familiar with setting up surround sound systems. There is an option under settings, TV & One guide, audio and video - change from stereo to surround sound. Your xbox should restart.

I found this info via this

This is how I have mine physically setup.

XboxOne - HDMI to the "Game" Port on the receiver

Receiver - HDMI From Video Out to HDMI Port on TV

If you're doing everything with HDMI then ditch the optical cable. If your Blu-ray player is also a surround system, then you need to have your xbox go into the blu-ray's Input port. From the Blu-ray's HDMI Output port, go to the TV. Programming is all that
    should be left.

No Xbox One audio through Sony Surround receiver only get Sky Tv audio? But i can through the tv.

You would actually want your hd box connected to your xbox one then your xbox one to your surround sound and then the surround sound to the tv. this way, your tv will display the picture but your surround sound will intercept the audio. the surround sound
works as and audio/video in AND out device. Your sky tv wouldn't connect to the xbox at all as far as I know, that would have to be plugged in directly to the sony surround sound and you would change the input on the surround sound rather than the tv.

Here are some cool diagrams to setup your home theater system
