Surround sound changes when controller turns off

My console is connected to my receiver through the optical spdif sending Dolby Digital sound. It works great for games, and everything else. However, when I turn the controller off, the audio quality drops significantly when watching something on an app
like Amazon. Although the receiver still shows its getting the Dolby signal, it definitely sounds like 2 channel stereo when i turn the controller off. I can't think of any possible reason why the controller off would affect the sound. This is an xbox one
    s.

    :)

Need help setting up Sony surround sound with Xbox One

I got my xone to pair with my tv and cable box and it can turn the tv on and off, but when i try to set it up to control my sony tuner surround sound, it finds the model number when i put it in, but the xbox cant seem to control it. All my sound goes threw this and i dont use the tv speakers for anything. They are off so muting tv wont do anything since the sound comes threw the tuner for the surround sound. Is it possible for the xbox to control this as well so it will turn it on and off and contgrol the sound volume or do i keep having to use the surround sound remote? Its not a big deal, but it would be nice if it could....

  3. TV and Surround Sound Setup

Hello, I have a question involving setting up my Xbox One to turn on and off my TV and my Surround Sound system. My current setup is through HDMI and it goes from the Xbox One to my Pyle Surround sound system then from the Pyle Surround Sound system to my
Samsung Smart TV. I have tried numerous times to set it up so that when I turn on my Xbox One everything turns on, and when I turn off my Xbox One everything turns off. How would I make this work? I would also like to be able to control the volume of the Pyle
Surround Sound system from my Xbox One if possible.

Samsung TV Model Number - UN55H6300AF

Pyle Surround Sound Model Number - PT590AU

Xbox One (HDMI) -> Pyle System (HDMI)-> Samsung Smart TV (HDMI)

Surround sound changes when controller turns off

    Hi

Does this issue only occur when watching streaming content through Amazon & Netflix, after this can you try watching a Blu Ray or DVD to see if the same issues occurs. If Blu Rays and DVD play without issue I would try carrying out

    network troubleshooting tests
to make sure you have no connection issues.

  5. .....it’s happening to me as well. It seems every time my controller goes off, Netflix dims and reduces in audio.

This has to be faulty coding involved with their idle feature. Their idle test is probably controller off lol

Would love a response for how to fix this issue as it is getting really frustring Surround sound changes when controller turns off :)

I'm curious, if you go back to where everything is working fine. Then hold down the Xbox button on the controller and choose the option to Turn controller off.

Do things work fine after that?

After 10 minutes, does the Xbox go back to the dimmed screen?

Xbox one. S keeps. Switching. From receiver to headphons

If these are wired headphones, consider unplugging them from the controller. If these are wireless headphones, try turning them off when you want to use the surround sound system.

TV app keeps crashing? Kinect IR blaster stops working? Post your findings/fix here.

Turning off instant on fixes the problem for me. I'm going to try turning off the "turn off after inactivity" setting.

Also, the issue with sound cutting in and out for me was solved by turning off Dts surround setting. I was getting tons of issues with surround sound on. 7.1 uncompressed completely remedied that.
