    Surge Protector for xbox one

    Short answer yes per
    support.xbox.com/.../about-power-supply

Look under Power supply placement, temperature, and noise.

Note If the PSU is making excessive noise, you might have a power strip or surge protector that is overloaded. Plug your PSU directly into a wall outlet and see if the problem persists.

  5. Hi Lipsync Lizard

oSWANKYo is correct in providing you with that link but what I would add is if you really want to have it on some form of surge protector you will need to look into a power center. It provides clean power and reduces signal interference if you are encountering
that. I picked one up when I lost a 360 in a wind storm that blew the system out and have had no issues since.

With that said if you would like any suggestions I can tell you the model I currently have. But if not the wall outlet is the better option than the cheap surge protector strip.

You should never use any type of surge protector/power adapter with your console as they can cause several issues & would void the warranty.

  7. I'd also like to add that the Xbox one powersupply has a built in surge protector and there's no need for a second one

First, is what you have called a surge protector really only a UPS?

If a protector somehow limits power, then attach a light bulb to the same power source. Does the bulb change intensity as the game power cycles and plays? Ideal power for electronics is even when that bulb dims to 50% intensity. However any proper power
source means that bulb changes intensity by 0%.

Second, others are correct about not useing a protector. Since adjacent protectors can even compromise protection that is standard in all electronics.

Meanwhile, if anything in the house needs protection, then everything does. Informed homeowners earth a 'whole house' protector to protect everything for tens or 100 times less money per protected appliance. This completely different device, also called
a surge protector, means nothing is damaged even after a direct lightning strike. Even the protector remains functiional. An Xbox warrranty is not compromised. Protection inside all appliances is not overwhelmed. Nobody even knew a surge existed. And this
is how it was done even 100 years ago.

Plug an Xbox directly into a wall receptacle. Does noise remains?

  9. i've always used powerbars surge protectors never an issue. xbox claims surge protected built in but why does the manual not say that? why does it not say on the box anywhere? why when i google that nothing comes up other than the website xbox created? why
does it not tell us the juelz like a surge protector does? **** here. xbox lies so you fools plug into the wall get hit by lightning and now have to replace your xbox. i have tested surge protector plugged into another they both worked perfectly fine. i have
tested other appliances that "recommend" you don't use power bars guess what works and still works 10 years later? the appliance that wasn't suppose to use a power bar or surge protector lol. by this theory a gfci outlet attached to another gfci outlet won't
work properly. guess what? tested myself they both pop and protect the appliance and user. also the cable is like 2ft long can't reach to any of my outlets if i tried so power bars must be used. especially when i have 10 things hooked up. please explain how
one plugs into a wall when he or she has so many electronics that 2 power bars are needed thus leaving 0 outlet space available? just get rid of the other 8 things and only use the tv to the wall and the xbox to the wall? now how will my pc work? stereo? modem?
router? ethernet splitter? alarm clock? fan? mini fridge? cell phone chargers? vape pen chargers? subwoofer for stereo? not everyone uses crap turtle beach headsets i have a giant stereo system that alone requires 3 outlets lol. 1 for the deck 2 for the
10" and 12" powered subwoofers. the surge bars i use cost $40 to $100 CAD perhaps people need to stop being cheap. never use ones from the dollar store or any discount store. always buy brand ie monster cable, belkin just to name a couple i use. anywho off
to play xbox one X that is plugged into a surge protector along with 8 other things and even 2 usb slots. gg

    Xbox One not performing correctly

The Xbox One PSU already has a surge protector, plugging the console into another surge protector will cause issues and is not recommended.

Follow Up to Questions Regarding Losing Power On Xbox One X

You're right, the console does have it's own surge protector. Some surge protectors do cause issues. My Xbox One & Xbox 360 are plugged into one, and have no issues at all, so I think it depends on the brand of surge protector you have.

is your xbox one plugged into a surge protector? The xbox one has surge protection built into the power supply and if it's plugged into a surge protector you may have problems. Try plugging it into the wall or a different outlet.

Surge protector with the Xbox Series X

I've never had any problems with my Xbox One X while it's plugged into an external surge protector and I got my Xbox Series X on release day and it's plugged into an external surge protector as well and I've had no problems with that either.

I would rather an external surge protector die doing its job than the surge protector dying in the console as you'd have no working console when there was a power surge without an external surge protector as the first line of defence.
